"* Based on a fantasy light novel series written by Furumiya Kuji and illustrated by Chibi.
Climbing a deadly tower, Oscar seeks the power of its master, the Witch of the Azure Moon. He hopes her incredible magic can break a curse that will kill any woman he takes for a wife. When the prince sees how beautiful Tinasha is, though, he has a better idea-since she's surely strong enough to survive his curse, she should just marry him instead! Tinasha isn't keen on the idea, but agrees to live with Oscar in the royal castle for a year while researching the spell placed on the prince. The witch's pretty face hides several lifetimes of dark secrets, however-secrets that begin resurfacing...

Don't know what I was expecting, but this came off as too pedestrian, somehow. The obstacle of clearing the witch's tower was cleared within 10 minutes and was a subdued affair, for how impossible it was hyped up to be, and then the following conversation with the witch over tea played out like she really was 16 or so with how flustered she got at the mention of marriage. They settle on a live-in compromise and 'Waifu get'.
Flatly introduce some more side characters and go out on a seemingly random battle against an old mage acquaintance and take the opportunity to make silly vows about how we will always be there for each other and such. Not even a blush to stoke the heart flames; what little there were. Witch ages slightly to heal. See you next week.
While there is potential here (and some fine animation cuts in episode 2), the only compelling plot thread is the circumstances around the curse itself, and the show seems content on keeping that little nugget hostage for a rainy transition arc. Can't say I recommend, but you could do worse.
