Take note that they are now in a fantasy world with magic powers, so our understanding of human limits need to change. Their bodies probably grow endlessly (with of course individual differences, he is lauded as a genius/monster by Rose in this regard) as long as you are able to train and heal. Time to heal and recover is basically omitted, and he can train endlessly without risk of injury, even doing far more extreme methods that no one other than those that can heal themselves as well as him and bosslady can do.

You'll have to show me a source where it says that the human body is that different in that world. And if so: Why does Rose not help soldiers to train their bodies then?!

Basically: they can go to human limits and repair what breaks when doing so.

And as stated, it's possible the limits are different as they live in a world bathed in magic.

Then what we check next is the power balance.

Edit: Rose and MC have their healing magic working full time. Other soldiers can't train like them.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

They're also overstressing and destroying their muscle tissue and healing it as they act, pushing themselves over normal human limits.

Not the first IP featuring regen to do this gimmick.

Again: Then why not train the royal soldiers with that method? Who Rose cares so much about? It's like she's the only one who knows about it and keeps it to herself.

    Nah.

It's because it doesn't work that way. Usato had to figure it out instinctually, and as the other healer and his sister described, what you're doing is different every time and for every healer and every patient.

Curing himself of cholera was different from curing himself from being poisoned, which was also different from how he continually heals himself from exertion. He had to be uniquely attuned to what was going sore in his body where.

It's not something that works universally. This isn't "Cast Curaga" and you're back to full health without putting some actual thought into it. Even healing a broken bone took some thought on how to approach it.

That's why the rescue squad's priority is to Get In, assess who can be saved by the backline healers and who can't, Get Out as fast as possible, and don't let yourself get killed.

In short, Rose and MC are special. They are the only ones who can do what they do, and everyone, including Rose, acknowledges this fact, and has explicitly said so a few times already. The other healers in the group cannot heal themselves they way Rose and MC do, so they are not even active combatants.

This reads a whole lot like "I like this anime and will make up any excuse to protect it from valid criticism".

@shinta: Yes, Rose is special. In a comical, gag-manga way. That's the problem.

Read it as, "I pay attention and have more than a short term memory. This anime has directly told us this multiple times," because that's what is going on here, just like many series in the past.

Maybe focus less on how you wish a series to unfold and pay more attention to what the series explicitly details.

I mean...it's also an anime. So even if they WEREN'T in a fantasy world with magic powers, our understanding of human limits would need to change.

That's how I read it. Wanting another series to be something completely different than what it was intended to be.

It's a comical gag manga kind of show!

WHY do you keep watching these when you don't like them?!

That depends on what the show itself established. I wouldn't expect Monster's Dr. Tenma to suddenly use healing magic instead of surgery.

Stop. If we all agree that this is a gag manga kind of show, I have zero issues.

As for why I keep watching these? Because I keep hoping for better and the premise was promising.

It should have been obvious the second they revealed that the Class President is a secret otaku what kind of show this was.

Her being a weeb has no impact on the laws of physics. Rose throwing a tree completely changes the dynamics with the demon threat.

I was actually hoping they'd reveal that Rose is half-demon or something.

Didn't Rose still lose her right eye and get her entire group killed despite being as strong as she is?

I think the demons are an actual threat either way.

    Episode 11:

So ... did ANYONE die in this "war battle"?

"We need to keep casualties down", Rose said, but I couldn't spot any dead soldiers at all.

This whole battle felt like cosplayers doing their thing. And, of course, the evil black knight who's murdered countless people gets to live, because there's a cute girl inside the armour.

Fuck, can someone pls warn me of such shit anime in the future? Thx

You lack attention to detail or long-term memory, maybe both.

He ran past a lot of dead bodies last episode getting to his friends. Once dead, they stay dead.

And Rose spent years setting up a system and training people like this for exactly this reason. It is the reason humanity stands a chance against the physically superior demons. The "kidnappers" return people to the battlefield. They retain their experience, they become better fighters, and the demons lose a battle of attrition.

The whole concept was explored exhaustively in Helck as well.

I didn't see any dead people THIS episode. And what you describe still sounds like cosplay instead of real battle. It's shit.

Also, if you couldn't tell that the black night was a teenager, and very likely a girl, you were also missing every single hint since their first appearance.

I know you want edgelord clichés when it comes to fighting/battles/war, but the kingdom here is actually doing things intelligently by valuing their own soldiers' lives the most.

I'm not entirely sure I see the value in showing a field of corpses again. They already did as they were running across it, showing it again doesn't serve the narrative they're going for because the victory was in saving as many human lives as possible. The kingdom was on defense.

Nah, I don't want "edgelord cliches", I want realism instead of "Am I kawaii?" clichees.

And the knight being a girl was supposed to be twist reveal, there were no obvious hints, but of course you knew it. I applaud you, Ryll.
