I had some thoughts about S1, but that's so long passed it doesn't matter. world building is shit, but it doesn't matter, female characters get hyped up and never do much, but it doesn't matter, people hardly act like people, but it doesn't matter...

subset of questions:

1. the necromancer class was given to him because he works alone. and since he got that skill, he's been doing mostly group raids (except the tower), it's more intresting since he sucks as a character on his own, but it's contrary to the vibe.

The ghost summoned by the shadow army will follow the player's order as the shadow army and make way only for the player.

I assumed the only part implied that the skill won't work in a group battle or he'll get penalized for it. but guess not. I don't like that he got the iron knight as a summon - it feels out of place, and the personality is also different.

2. does the name and threat recognition work for him anywhere, or is it only inside player-unique dungeons? how come he didn't know the elf name?
3. did we get confirmation if kills from the summons count for his EXP?
4. how does the time diallation work inside gates? the ice land didn't feel like a week has passed, but if time goes slowly in a dungeon, it means there's no hope for help from outside.
5. old hunter is over 80, and the whole gates thing is about ten to twenty years, right? so he started at sixty and became the strongest dude alive? and then quit to manage the government association?
6. what's the plan of that kid with the new guild? they want a piece of the minning pie, but there's no way it's sustainable to have salaried employees clearing C-rank dungeons for them without wanting a bigger cut. and they won't respect the guildmaster because he's both weak and inexperienced, one look and they'll know he's never killed a single monster and got carried by someone (i know he killed a goblin, IDGAF). and if you don't need the hunters to enter the dungeon and you can have them play cards out in the open, why bother bringing them there? just write down the names when you submit the request and tell them to not show up. it's really common, I got paid once to have my name attached to something because they needed another certified person.
7. what was the MC's plan even? become a miner to get access to an A-rank dungeon, and then pretend he found a high-level item? even ignoring how stupid it is to sell the artifact, he could wait two days and get the S-rank and legal access to any dungeon he wants, and regardless, he probably had to sign a contract that everything they find in the minning pit goes to the company. which is how he and the rich kid got to be friends, so we know it's a thing in the world.

that's all for this rant. next episode will probably be some women fawnning on the pop star, but the sung shows them how cool he is and then they like him. this will lead nowhere.

Doesn't this have exactly as much world building as it needs? I'd have also wished for more meaninful female character contribution, but honestly it almost feels like the original author didn't want even this much, but an editor told him there has to be some for the sales, and so something was quickly tacked on. At the end of the day, this is clearly supposed to be a solo action story (the summoned creatures being treated as the MC's personal power), so it conflicts with having any meaningful other characters.

I don't see, at all, how he would suck on his own. He has been doing group raids due to technicalities. There's no way he would get the right to solo dungeons worth anything.

I wasn't aware of time dilation. Isn't it the same as outside? I don't really remember what they mentioned, but the ice dungeon felt more like a couple of days.

Seems like it. Everyone aside from Jinwoo get a certain level of power and that's it. The only thing they can do is the train to use that power better, learn tactics, and such. It would have been kind of unfortunate to be an old man to begin with when it all started, but that's just how it must have been when random people got powers. Maybe there were some so old they couldn't do anyhing any more.

The kid believes he has it figured out. I doubt he could attract high-ranking hunters if they see through the whole Jinwoo situation and look at the guild without Jinwoo in the picture. But maybe that's not even the goal? Maybe the dude is happy with mid level hunters and lower ranking dungeons, generally speaking, with Jinwoo doing whatever he wants in the meantime.

Miners would wait outside of the dungeon, to be ready to enter once the fighter hunters have cleared the dungeon, aside from the boss room (because that would close the gate). Jinwoo needed hunters to just hang around due to technicalities, as a dungeon needs a team to clear, according to the rules, but he wants to do it alone. In such a case if just having the rest of the hunters idling in front of the gate fulfills the requirements, maybe he doesn't care. Hunter association might wonder about it, but if it's okay according to the letter of the laws, who can do anything about it? Maybe just having the names and hunters sitting at home doesn't satisfy the demands?

If you ask me, it felt more like he wanted something to do while waiting for the S-rank announcement. There was the orb thing, but there probably wasn't a single viewer of this show that would want him to sell it in the first place.

Red gate had time dilatation where a week would pass inside whilst much less passed outside.

I wasn't aware of normal gates suffering from time differences.

Turns out the entertainment industry dude wasn't very fun at all. He's too much of a nobody that shitting on him was pointless. It felt more fun watching the other S classes freak out.

The "breaking glass" joke was the funniest joke I've heard in a while. I thought it was for real. I'm glad he kept the Double Damage orb, but it's a little sad that due to Jinwoo's access to his own shop that he can effectively allow himself to purchase anything he wants. At least have rich boy help him out a little in that regard. (That said, he's not rich anymore).

Flying ants that are strong, invading the rest of the world and Hunters are required to contain them? Sounds familiar.

edit: actually, the "where's your friend?" "You left him in the ceiling" caught me off guard.

wow, the kpop guy was even less of an issue than I expected. but, to be honest, for a moment I thought they messed up by him going and getting the E rank, and then he'd become a laughing stock. it's nice to learn that sometimes they do think through and he got an assessment beforehand... but A means he should be a reall big deal.
it's kinda of stupid that they went through the trouble of locking his file, but then announced that there's a new S-rank and didn't stop him from getting infront of the cameras.
I think that having a shadow soldier running arround the town makes it much more dangerous, imagine someone seeing it calling the cops, and they some C rank attacks the shadow and gets killed...
sidenote: Wasn't there a wolf or goblin in the first post-strong dungeons that tried to escape? didn't some red-orcs try to run? i thought it was pretty obious that monster can feel fear. maybe he just wanted to say the Vegeta line

Yeah, the actor dude wasn't really used for anything but to explain why there was a whole bunch of journalists around, to make sure everybody now knows Jinwoo is a big deal. The jokes of humiliating the arrogant actor weren't exploited all that well.

I'm glad he kept the Double Damage orb, but it's a little sad that due to Jinwoo's access to his own shop that he can effectively allow himself to purchase anything he wants.

I'd suppose the point is that very soon, stuff he could buy from shops (not counting his player store behind the UI) won't be worth anything for him. He was already wondering how a lousy (from his point of view) dagger can be so expensive. So, he can now buy "better than nothing" stuff without worries. The good stuff he has is loot.

Didn't they lock his info initially because he's suspected to be a reawakened and through quite pecual circumstances, like being the sole survivor? Now he's officially an S rank, so I suppose he deserved the respect all S ranks have.

I guess, but that would require Jinhoto confess that his dad, the head of a mega corporation, has fallen ill. and I don't care how much of an idiot is he, he should know better than to let that leak (stocks? plummetting). heck, I don't think he should even know about it. didn't they kick him out of the house? AND sung should somehow disclose his super secret quest and system interface. again, even he should know not to do that.

then again, next episode has a title "tired of looking up to you", which I could read as Jinho turning on sung. but i don't see it happenning.

Jinwoo sending his shadow troops to do the job for him is nice, makes me wish there was an RPG that'd let you do the same. I always pick classes that let you command assisting characters/creatures :P

Also: So much material for "Sister Leveling". The stuff writes itself at this point. The entire sequence where the guild-friend gets to sleep in Jinwoo's home and Jinna is also there ... perfect.

The most likely explanations are A. A 3rd Awakening, or B. A unique ability to build strength.

Stealth and stealth KOs in general. I have to play Thief/Dishonored/Deus Ex to get my fix for that kind of gameplay though.

I skimmed through a few old episodes and found out that a few characters from this season were already shown during the previous one - like there was actually a scene where two mages from the High Orc team met up with the healer from the Ice Elf team and they talked about their respective captains - how "Iron" wasn't very nice while the High Orc team leader was a decent chap etc.

I was slightly sad that Tusk only got generic fire blast animations instead of his "Song of ...." spells with the dragon heads. That would have been cool.
