The fight was boring because you know he'll win with some BS thing and you're just waiting to see what it'll be. That said, I thought the inventory re-equipping move was pretty neat. They also made the knight chivalrous enough to drop his sword for the unarmed fight, but also by having the knight draw his sword again first, the story removed MC's moral dilemma of pulling out his dagger again. Stocking the Ruler's Hand runestone for later felt like forced suspense. There's no demerit to unlocking that skill as soon as you obtain the item.

Yeah, the one thing I hate about this show is he doesn't use his skills and items to their maximum. He kinda waits until he is forced before using them. In a game that makes sense because you want to save them, but games have retries.

The only good thing I'll say is that they wrote a somewhat believable, plausible way for how Jinwoo managed to survive and win the dire situation.

The rest was bad, though. And now we have to wait? ugh

So... last fight was kinda cool... the necromancer stuff was neat as well - but that's all fine and how I expected it would be (for me).
I still believe season 1 will be the okay, heck, even good one and everything that will now follow will just turn it into something much worse.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience up until now. I'd be surprised if it remains that way.
I remember that the tone shifts from time to time in this show. Like for example the ghosts he summons do silly things and all that kind of stuff, I wonder if this will be done in the anime as well, I didn't really like that in the original.

The necromancer class came out of nowhere. The 25% buff was animated like it was a 100% buff. The fights are enjoyable enough overall.

Wonder if the penalty zone becomes harder. It may get to a point where the penalty zone is even preferred, assuming that the rewards from within are good compared to the rewards from the daily quests.

I mean...stat points are still stat points.

But the reward is, like, 5 points. Whereas leveling gives you +1 point in every stats. So if you level several times in the penalty zone, then the penalty zone is a better deal now.

I have mixed feelings because I feel like the trailer is so good that I'm totally spoiled with everything happening in season 2 and don't even need to watch it.

The second season looks just as good as the first one. Pretty fire, like the Americans would say. The series still does so well the whole thing of other characters being awed by the MC.

Quite funny that getting stuck inside a red gate was actually a good thing, helping him avoid the murderous visitor looking for blood.

That was entertaining Interestingly he left the party at the campfire while he went elsewhere, as if they can't/won't be attacked by another group of wandering bears.

The title thing was cool. It changed his passive so he's +40% stats against animals. His previous +1% to all doesn't seem worthy to equip in comparison.

The mana bar trickling slowly could have been animated better. It could have gone down in irregular chunks rather than a steady drain. As it is, it looks what you'd see if you channelled a spell. Instead, what it's supposed to depict is the mana cost of summoning (which it did a poor job of because the initial summon should have taken a large chunk of mana) as well as fire spell use.

Igris being stronger than MC is a good way for him to have a carry buddy.

I hope the mage girl has an anti-projectile bubble spell. That's going to be the most useful as they start encountering ice elves.

I'm not sure I understood exactly what he meant. We know that his extractions aren't limited to targets, because he has several soldiers and bears. If the bears were one attempt, then Iron was his second attempt. In which case he could only attempt one extraction against Ice Elf King because he gets 3 per dungeon run? He should have picked that up though in that case. I also didn't recall MC requiring to spend extraction points against the previous soldiers, only Igris.

As for Iron, his summon seemed stronger than the real deal. It was funny that taunt had a real effect on Ice Elf given that they're compelled by the system to hunt humans.

MC should really work on his MP now I guess, given how strong his summons are. You'd wonder if it's best to just summon the best ones and spend MP regenerating them instead of grunts. That said, only Igris looked like it'd actually avoid damage overall. Ice Bear Leader looked like it'd actually tank hits with HP. Iron might mitigate it with his shields, so he's 50/50.

MC also now actually has an incentive to kill other humans.

That fight was quite a good example of an MC needing to rely on allies to defeat a foe. It felt like it really mattered, with tactics used as well, not just straightforward bashing.

The elf came to that conclusion because the system didn't tell him to kill MC with their blanket rule, thus assuming he's not human - according to the system. That doesn't mean the MC ain't human in the conventional sense. It just means he has a special category or status with respect to the system.
