    TV: Netflix One Piece

Watched it It was really good actually. Pretty satisfied overall.

Cutting down the slapstick is how they fit 60 episodes of anime into 8 hours. And they killed off more characters.

    Only weird part for me...

Really liked it. I thought they did a good job adapting the source material.

I understand the increased focus on Coby, it's a good B plot for the story overall, and it gives the season some closure.
there are choices I don't agree with, but it was fun and it might work as something to introduce more poor souls to the anime/manga. poor, poor sobs.

sig made by Itachi-y2k5, thanks, dude!
Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

You know the important distinction between Batman and me? Batman is fictional. In real life, there isn't always an alternative.

If I already watched and remember One Piece anime, is it worth watching this?

    yes, it's worth it.

I've read the corresponding manga chapters over the week, and i think the live action gets some things better than the original.

I just wish this first season was 1 episode longer, to do Loguetown. Just to finish off the East Blue saga.

Loguetown would also have been a better place for that final Garp confrontation than Arlong Park.

I'm surprised this show included so many minor characters, but cut out some fan favorites like Jango and Hachi. Though I understand why Hachi was cut.

Gear 5 turns Luffy into an actual cartoon. Roger Rabbit-style.

yes, you might be right. they can replace dragon with garp for saving luffy from execution and then have that final dialog (which i didn't really like, but the two plot lines must meet).

I'm not expecting the live action to ever reach the stories where the missing characters are needed. they can probably do Chopper arc, but the island of with the two giants and then crocodile, I think it's too much CGI and too many fights. then again, it's an adaptation, maybe they can make it work and re-structure it.

Considering this is literally the most popular thing Netflix has made, I'm hoping the budget won't be an issue.
