And, season's over. Mid-fight too. That's annoying.
I was wondering when Squad 0 was gonna get to Bankais. Looks like we won't see 3 of them though.

dead but not dead because their king rules over death ?
Also he looks like Aizen, the king I mean.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
I'm wondering when Aizen will make an appearance here. He's obviously gonna.
Watched Part 3 episode 1. Everyone's powerset just being total nonsense and "lol your shit did nothing" "no actually YOUR shit did nothing" is quintessential Bleach.
High budget, top of the crop nonsensical animation

I don't even know what their powers do anymore.
It might be more obvious if the translation actually translated power names.
I laugh every time someone is like, "Bankai...[20 syllables of Japanese]."
The death of fan translation for anime has me missing TL notes that might have explained what the fuck Senjumaru or Ichibe's Bankai names mean, but what they do is pretty obvious. Senjumaru's is like a domain expansion from Jujutsu Kaisen where she traps you in some kind of themed murder, and Ichibe's just lets you directly overwrite someone's identity and destroy them on a conceptual level.
The color black is the "ink" he works with. I'm sure it comes off a lot more poetically in Japanese since he has a calligraphy/nomenclature thing going on. It also makes Ichibe come off as a rather Satanic figure since he's the king of darkness and threatens to send Ywach to hell.
Episode 3:
They kept Ukitake's totally nonsensical backstory where he has a childhood illness in the afterlife. Thank you Kubo for just not giving a shit at all about your comic's setting.
I mean, why are children even being BORN in the afterlife?
Is Soul Society even actually an afterlife? You never hear about anyone from Soul Society talk about when they were still alive.
I think it's just a reincarnation thing. Humans die then their souls go to soul society where they are reborn as new people.

Seriously, how the hell did bomb guy end up with the squad here?
The meat of this episode is turning the fight between Ichigo and Ishida into a big splashy set piece. In the comic they barely fight at all.
Isn't Ishida's Vollstandig just the same ability as that one Shinigami he made fun of in the original Soul Society arc? It's also just Byakuya's Bankai. Furthermore the Yoriuchi scene where she threatens Yhwach with the 2-hit kill weapon is just a direct lift of an identical scene between Soifon and Aizen.
Anyone else think the animation has improved with more detail since Disney funded this? I think this last arc is leagues better than the older episodes in animation.
Bleach with a budget.
I mean...the older episodes were on a "new episode every week, no stopping" schedule. So obviously they'd look more like Naruto or One Piece than Demon Slayer or Jujusu Kaisen.
Also, they were still in SD when this show started.
Also, animation technology has improved a lot in the last 20 years.
True True
Another setup episode for the third act.
How does Chad know what a Quincy cityscape looks like? Did they accidentally give him someone else's line?
I think it would probably have made more sense both from a plot and character perspective if Ichigo took the Fullbringer shortcut and the Shinigami had to use the Hollow Garganta. It would be of a piece with the "Shunsui releasing Aizen" thing where they have to make temporary peace with their enemies, and also if they barely had enough reiatsu to activate the gate, why aren't all of them out of energy now?
Also why the fuck did Shunsui release Aizen and then just leave him in Seireitei? The only explanation is that he read ahead in the script and realized it would solve way too many problems for the heroes if they brought Aizen along and pointed him at their problems, and he knew he only needed Aizen for exactly one thing - to block the gross eyeball things from killing everyone.
