Yeah but from Shunsui's perspective he's leaving behind possibly their strongest weapon despite the situation being so grave in the first place he wanted to release him from prison and things only getting worse from there. Looks like that's the end of Part 3, and Part 4 is going to be the finale.
Another strange editing decision here: much like the ending of Part 2 this double episode seemingly stops about 10 minutes early so they have to fill time with skits. Granted there's not really any natural leaving-off point in this chunk of story. While I approve of their production process it led to some really weird shit like this, or the fact that Rukia's bankai finishes working during the credits of whatever episode it was.
How exactly is Askin easily surviving all this stuff? His powers only let him adjust the "lethal dose" of things he takes in huge amounts of. Shouldn't Yoruichi's first Shunko attack just rip his head off, or Ichigo's first Getsuga? He isn't able to adjust it until AFTER he gets hit a lot. Also, adjusting for Reishi shouldn't help at all against physical attacks.
At least Askin's power is sort of interesting though, Gerard is just, uhhh, he's invincible. Cool. These guys suck.
Are physical attacks with no supernatural energy behind them of any threat to anyone in this show?
