I just remembered that Rudy has his eye of Foresight and it got zero use today.
And the fishy dude smuggled Ruijerd, but in return wanted the party to lberate/sabotage smuggled goods? Is he a mole or something? That part doesn't add up.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
I expect the intention was for them to take the prisoners for another transaction on behalf of that smuggler. I expect the audience doesn't know any of the details because Rudius never intended to comply with the smuggler's request regardless what the goods happened to be. Silly on the smuggler's part to take them at their word, but maybe the job itself was to save face and he was really just paying Rudy back for saving his life earlier.
I forgot how lewd this show can be, but this is the first episode where it took enough of the screen time from other things to be unwelcome. We got things to do, people!
Well, maybe the smuggler has a deal with the beast people who came to the rescue as well
Or maybe he wanted the goods himself. Or maybe he got paid to do it.
Or maybe none of that.
I noticed that Roxy mentioned she is King Class.
I know that she mentioned her rank advancement in a letter to Rudi.
Is it different from that, or is it the same rank?
Does someone remember?
And does someone remember what Rank missions Rudi's group took in that first town?
Wasn't that "A" Rank as well? After they got that license thingy.
I really hope Eris won't be Rudy's final love interest. Either have him gather a harem or have it be Roxy or the elf girl with green hair. Eris is the boring choice.
Yeah, but if you're gonna sexualize her anyway, make her look hot like an Idolmaster-loli. Not a literal child body :/
Episode 14
--------
They won't just let us have a happy episode.
Seeing beast kids die didn't do much, because to be honest anime desensitizes you to this stuff anyway, but seeing Eris's enthusiasm at telling Gramps about Beast-people village right before he's beheaded? That didn't feel good.
The smuggling shit makes complete sense now.

Uh...this entire world is fetish-pervy. The beast people's native culture is to roll over on your belly as an apology and await "punishment"?
I get that it is a common quadruped response to submission for many Earth animals. But...<deep sigh>.
I also thought Rudy had more useful combat magic, especially with all the experience between the snake monster at the end of last season and their year-long journey to the port city. Guess this episode is a better reminder of, "For real, swordsmanship is no joke in this world and at particular levels, is on par with any other fantasy skills."
I suppose it would natural to just think of it as a fetist fest. On the other hand every little difference contibutes to not making the beast people nothing but humans with animal ears.
Maybe he's too used to having two close combat fighters by his side in fights. Now he started to act immediately when the big dog appeared, and fulfilled that role to a degree, but it's still not the same as having too fast fighters to give him time to use his magic.
That smell business was a nice touch. That said, rain wouldn't let you smell shit either. Besides putting out the fire, the rain just removed the smoke, which removes nasal irritation, but hardly lets you smell again.Originally Posted by Kraco

I was glad that Rudy's foresight was shown to be not almighty. Yeah, he sees stuff - doesn't mean he can move as fast.
Didn't expect the grandpa to be executed for real. That alone makes this a good anime. Nothing worse than 'he's gonna be killed - NAH, JUST JOKING'.
Was Ghislane(sp?) also a saint class swordsman? She seemed a bit more impressive.
She was a Sword King when she rescued Eris from the kidnappers.
edit:
well, thanks to having to go back through old eps, I was reminded that this happened right before the teleportation storm hit. Guess we now know that magic eyes exist and Ghislaine probably has one.

I found the ape-face guy to be a bit fishy.
He surely has a more important role in the future?
Everything felt unnatural about him, especially since he got trapped in there with Rudy in the first place.
What was he doing there, especially the reason why he was imprisoned felt weird.
For cheating? In a game? In a Beast tribe village?
If he's a habitual cheater in gambling, he would ultimately need to change his location continuously. If he had heard the beast tribe has some minor wealth, he might have simply thought he could earn coins by beating some guys over there in games, before the animal ears folks even realise what's going on. However, since the place is obviously quite rural and tribal, the local rules and conventions might have worked against him.
I wonder if he is half-beastman himself, since his back/neck was also hairy and his nails were black.
The thing is, these guys aren't really fond of humans from what I could tell.
So a human visiting their tribe and them gambling together for funsies seems quite out of place.
I'd assume the more likely explanation of monkey man's imprisonment is that he lied about why he was put in the cage with the nude teenager that seemed a bit too comfortable with the whole situation and forgot to correct the lie later when he was in full disciple mode.

Quite a nice episode. Not much happened, apart from revealing something about Ghislaine's (dark) history, but it still felt very meaningful. The more Eris's character is built, the more impact it will have when she finds out her grandpa's fate.
That one beast tribe woman is annoying, though. It's strange she keeps hanging around Rudeus, despite their history. Is she Gyes's wife, or something, and thus can't just make herself scarce? It's obvious she still has nothing but distaste for Rudeus and doesn't make much of an effort to hide it.
Rudeus better be practicing his eye, magic, and swordsmanship behind the scenes. If not, he is a fucking idiot.
Peace.
So umm... if they can indeed smell sexual arousal, they didn't mistake Rudy and the dog like we initially thought. (unless they can't tell who is aroused and just assumed it was Rudy).
