Rudeus could think of nothing but how to get Eris back home, and on top of it he promised to help Ruijerd with the Superd clan's ill reputation. Even when he failed with the death of the kid, he still felt that crushing responsibility on his shoulders. He couldn't afford to show anything more than he did, nor think of anything extra, so he just locked up. I'd say the episode showed perfectly how a person who foolishly accepted a responsibility of immense importance well beyond their means would behave when the house of cards starts collapsing.

But yeah, it's impossible not to like the fight scenes.

Yeah, it surprised me when I saw it the other day someone mentioned it here. Probably something Covid-19 related, I believe the series was delayed as it was already so there's some scheduling conflict as well. I doubt we'll have to wait much for more.

    Say whaaaat?
I'm on vacation atm and I was really hoping to get to see the last 2 episodes in that vacation. So we only get 11?

Darn... well, since it will continue in July, I think I can forgive them.

Many good shows have weird 11 ep cours. I'm okay, as long as it's good.

Besides Eris's animation, what impressed me was that Rudy has a nuke. Sure, he displayed a huge storm when he graduated from Roxy years ago, but to have that much power to know he can just delete a city is something else. The other two party members dominated the monster hunts (even if the killing blow was Rudy's), but this guy's got the nuke.

Also, this means that Roxy was a 44 yo masturbating to Paul's sex, not a 15yo.

edit: Also, I bet 50 bucks that Paul banged that elf from his party as well.

He needs more battle experience. He is using the wrong spells and trying to contribute in the wrong ways. The frontline is there to keep the enemy busy while he prepares a powerful spell, which is what happened at the end. He shouldn't be trying to snipe an enemy that can move much faster than he can using small bullets.

I don't think that line was literal.

He was saying "In order to protect Eris, I'd level this entire city if I had to." as in, that's how far he'd be willing to go. That doesn't mean he actually has the power to do that with a single spell.

That's an issue I mentioned weeks ago, too, though: He NEEDS to become faster. Surely there must be a way to speed up. I noticed how it never looked like Rudy did any training or got stronger. Eris truly is leveling up all the time, but Rudy? Just the same level of magic whenever we see it.

He is severely limited by his age. His body and muscles are just too small to keep up with even Eris, who is quite a bit bigger than him. Isn't he like 7 years old?

As for his magic, I think we haven't seen the best that he can do, being a mage and all. His specialty would be huge AOE magic, and I believe he has leveled up significantly if him just being pissed can cause the weather in the city to change.

Didn't they celebrate his 10th birthday back at the Grayrat mansion? I seem to recall they only celebrate the 5th, 10th, and 15th (adult) birthdays in general. Although I could easily be remembering wrong.

Then I hope he learns a truly powerful non-AoE spell soon, because when the only choice is between losing or nuking, that's kinda bad, lol.

Yes, he's 10. They got transported at precisely his birthday party if not mistaken... he was testing his new present.

Eris is 2(?) years older than him.
He is quick using spells actually and can enhance his movement that way. He was doing so when he was 6 or so while training with his father or fighting the kidnappers. It's far below the advanced combat style users though

Since he became a tutor to Eris, I think he has stagnated on his own magic improvement. He focused on learning new languages, etc. and not honing his spells.

Also, there's a difference between casting spells and fighting using magic. I think he's lacking on the latter considerably, which is a bit of a surprise since he has been practicing swordsmanship so he has some level of instruction on fighting. But even so, point remains that he's still lacking on how to fight using magic besides whatever he has self-taught himself.

All those points aside, to your point... no one can cast faster than him that we know of (other than potentially the one that teleported and his ilk). So in a one on one setting, mages are probably at a disadvantage if even Rudeus is lacking.

But, I don't think it's an issue of him speeding up (though in time it may very well be, he's still growing), but more of an issue of accuracy and timing, and just overall battle awareness. His spell repertoire seems weak too, wonder if he'll learn new spells soon. He's honestly been half-assing it for a while now on this regard.

Anyways, loved the latest episode... a damn shame we have to wait for more. It's listed with 12 episodes, and that's not enough for the full story, so I hope we get more after. This is a series that deserves to been fully animated particularly since it's finished product as it is, and it's very popular to boot.

This is not even the prologue to this story, so this will definitely get more seasons.

Jolly good episode. The fights, the drama, the pace and variety of events (battle, extortion, separation, and resolve) sandwiched between two credit streams with more world building makes this feel like a very quality product.

I've read most of the available manga; how much more story, does anyone know, is there in the books beyond that? Just trying to guage how many seasons might eventually exist if this hits off sales wise.

I didn't really read the WN past the first meeting with Rujierd, but from what I gather in various places online, this is similar to Dragon Ball where it covers decades of time.

I don't know how the manga goes, but LN/WN wise, we're at around volume 3 currently out of 24 volumes. So that should gives us an idea on how long this series could be.

There was quite a bit of content cut out in this volume, particularly as it regards the plan to rehabilitate the Superd name, but hopefully they'll find another means to get the same point across in some other manner. But from an impact context, I like this more with the failure, leading to being found out, leading to being chased out of town and how that translated to the level of of pressure Rudeus was putting upon his shoulders alone and the disastrous consequences it had from doing so.

But even so, it felt bit a bit rushed, like they wanted to end this season in the best manner and cut corners to arrive at this point. Nonetheless, as I said before, loved the episode.

Also loved the message Paul apparently left for Rudeus and the faith he placed on him, even if he's only 10 years old. That said, was curious... was there some allusion to a message system within the Guild (like via magic or maybe by courier)? And I wonder if that system, whatever it is, is connected with the Guild in the Demon continent as well.

"To make that happen, I'd wipe this whole city off the map".. (staff glows, clouds darken and spin around).

He was about to AoE the city.

There's no point trying a spell like that unless you know you can do it.

Flash flooding a city without killing everyone there just creates enemies. Rudy is after eliminating enemies, and he showed no suggestion that he was just after horse dude.
