Flash flooding a city without killing everyone there just creates enemies. Rudy is after eliminating enemies, and he showed no suggestion that he was just after horse dude.

I fully disagree. I'd say his intention was to make the people forget all about the Superd when someone else turned their city in a giant, dirty pool of water. Of course a bunch of people would most likely die due to flooding, but getting hammered by rain, no matter how heavy, will not automatically kill anyone. Even a Japanese person will just get a fever lasting for one or two days.

Like, realistically, any attack that "wiped the city off the map" would also kill Eris. She's in the middle of the fucking city.

I agree. I thought it was more of a figure of speech and he was about to stealth kill that horse with a nature spell that can't be tracked down to him as easily.

I kinda wonder why he is always "hiding" his weapon. Is it to protect it from thieves because it looks so valuable?

I would think so. Works the same IRL. If I had an expensive item and had to go through a rough neighborhood, I would hide it from view as much as possible.

Part of their scheme is coming off as a low-rank, non-powerful, non-threatening adventurers party, so hiding the powerful staff surely plays into that as well.

All that said, he has been hiding it since he arrived to the demon continent, before they even thought of forming an official guild party, so other reasons are at play as well you mention it, maybe it's also something the helps maintain it? Though I doubt that since Roxy herself is openly carrying her staff.

Rudy's there too. I assumed that somehow the spell doesn't kill the dude standing in the middle of it.

Rewatching the scene he does look directly at horse dude right at the end but, so yeah.. probably just wanted to kill him.

A huge advantage of his is that people will underestimate him because he's a kid. He doesn't want to lose that element of surprise by waving around some archmage staff.

amazing first episode for an amazing show.
Unless something out of the ordinary will happen, this show is going to be my favorite for sure already.

I liked the littel detail that we could see Roxy/Elf/Dwarf in the background on the ship when it entered the harbor.

This was kind of a sad episode because Rudeus and Roxy passed each other, with neither noticing the other.

Roxy's going back to their group's inn, right after Rudy passes through and overhears the elf getting laid. Guess Paul's entire adventuring party was full of horndogs and unsatiated women. Maybe it's a miracle that Zenith got him to settle down with her at all.

No comments on Eris being able to do a standing jump that's 10 feet in the air?

Overall everyone did seem to be slightly taller - but mainly Eris.

So the thing with Foresight then is that it predicts the most likely path, but it's not the guaranteed future, since he clearly saw Cleaner's head get smashed by the pot but he blasted him away before it could happen - which meant Foresight saw something that didn't occur.

Well seeing the future would be pretty fucking useless if you couldn't take action to change it. I assume it shows what's going to happen if you don't do anything.

But yeah, multiple outcomes are clearly possible since he saw more than one Eris image when fighting her. We might know more if they hadn't skipped over his ass beating by Ruj.

I thought the Multi Eris was more Eris+1sec, Eris+2sec etc, not alternative Eris actions, but that's possible.

As for seeing the future being useless if it doesn't change, that depends. I am actually rather fond of prophecies that are 100% true but incomplete - because that means you can trust them 100% (they will be true), but now that you know what will happen regardless of choices, you can focus on what you didn't see - and focus on changing that.

For example, if Eris will throw sand regardless, then we know intercepting her throw is useless. She'll throw. But dodging or blocking is an option because that is an open outcome.

The opposite is true here where for example Rudy might know someone will attack him - now it's just up to him to see if he can change the outcome. Interestingly, Foresight also applied to himself when he was waving his hands in front of his own face.

One thing they planted this episode was having Roxy around the sparring session. She really had no reason to be there unless she recognised that humans were rare (and thus could be Rudy), or heard rumours of their description and came to sus out a young male magician with a staff.
