    Munou na Nana

    252051.jpg

"An academy on an island in unnavigable waters. There, students trained tirelessly, to fight back against the enemies of humanity. The protagonist, a student newly transferred there, also sets out with the intention of eradicating all enemies of humankind. An unpredictable, intellectual suspense story of justice and evil."

    Genre(s): Suspense, Mystery, Thriller, Sci-fi

The less you know about this going in, the more enjoyable it is. The tone is certainly an indicator of what to expect. I won't spoil here, but definitely look forward to some speculation.

Well OP/ED and second ep spoil almost everything that could be a surprise.
I'll wait next week to discuss if I feel like it, because I might drop that show after ep 3.

Aside from the silver hair boy being a bit too naive for my liking (to make the story work, I suppose), this is shaping to be a decent diet Death Note show. Anime could use more of this; trying to make use of a fantastical premise for tense storytelling, instead of ignoring them, as is often the case.

    EP07

I was a bit annoyed at first by how the necromancer didn't handle Nana discretely and thoroughly, but when I looked at it in the context of these students being 'trained' to save humanity, the 'kill first, ask questions later' approach doesn't seem like the likely option, after all. I forget that the other deaths are still largely unknown and the audience has a lot more information than the kids do...

This is good. Best this season, maybe.

Why is anime like this so rare? Quality suspense/thriller that gets me every episode.

Now Nana has a truely dangerous 'rival', not that immortal boy was insipid, but his repeated failures and low class standing make Nana seem slightly above him in ability- but this guy (who I figured to be the teacher from the OP) is on another level. I love the tension he brings.

Well, he's a little too OP...
And the zombies were not corpses from 5 years ago. But probably from last term just before the new recruits arrived.
My guess is he just loves seeing people murder each other and he waits each promotion as we watch a new season of a good show.
He might have some other reason but I don't see why he would team with Nana.
Again he's way too OP and doesn't need to bother. He could stay hidden and wait for that group to die.
But I guess he got bored and enjoys the thrills of being active in the killing game.

I think he appears insurmountable, like all of the students so far (and yes, even moreso), but if Nana has one actual talent, it is rooting out and exploiting the weakness in a foe's power or personality.

    13 END:

That actually made me sad. Fucking sad.

Manga continues from Chapter 29. The anime is ridiculously faithful to the manga. Even the framing of scenes look the same.

Even though she was raising death flags like a NASCAR finish line, I also felt pretty bad when Michiru bit it.

Thanks for the info. While a clean break, the ending is anything but satisfying, which is the just about the highest praise I can give to the story.
