4K Anime - It値l be a while
I致e been wondering when 4k anime would become a thing; wondering and hoping that some better ones would really shiny in HDR and 4k.
Sounds like it値l be a while to say the least...
Netflix worked with Production IG to do a test 4k+HDR anime and wrote in a fair bit of detail about the issues they hit and changes needed:

Pretty good read! (Not checked out Sol Levante yet, but looking forward to seeing it and glad Production IG is behind it).

Anime isn't a goldmine as a business. It's only decent for the likes of Ghibli, but regular run of the mill produces are struggling to stay afloat at all. If 4k and HDR raised the costs, the studios wouldn't want to go there unless they have to. Ironically the move from physical media toward streaming would also lessen the need. Streaming quality is shitty in the vast majority of cases compared to the plain old BD, let alone the Ultra HD BD.
