Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks?

Masato Oosuki’s dream has just come true: he's been transported into the world of a video game. But for some reason, his doting mother, Mamako, has come along with him?! A whole new style of fantasy comedy, where your mom tags along on your heroic adventures!
About to watch episode 1. Well, let's see how that one turns out.

"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court

    Episode 1;:
    ----

Yes, it's total trash. But It's got an adorable, hot, cute MILF. I can't argue with that 🙈

Awaiting the doujins ... wait, did I say something ...

Mamako didn't feel like a mother at all. And that first episode was so boring !

I skimmed the episode. She's like a fangirl you can't offend or insult.

    I doubt I'll keep watching

    If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~

I wonder if the Japanese understand what the full acronym of MILF actually stands for, or if they just think it's slang for a hot mom.

Why? Is that term actually used in the show/subtitles? I haven't watched, so I was curious...

Lol no. Official English title appears to be 'Okaasan Online', but that's such a shit title that I refuse to acknowledge it. It's not a translation at all and it's not a clever localization either, it's just ... 'Mother Online'. Wow :/

"Milf Isekai" is a more fun title than that and more fitting, too.

If I had to officially translate the title, it'd probably be something like "To the other World with my awesome Mom" or "My Mom is an overpowered Monster Slayer".

    That's not a translation. That's just a different title.

The Japanese title is "Tsuujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de Ni-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki Desu ka?" which means "Do you love your mom, whose normal attack is AOE and double hits?" or "Do you love moms with an AOE, multi-hit default attack?"

If I want to localize it more naturally, I'd go with "Do you love your OP mom?" or "Do you love OP moms?" depending on what the Japanese author's original intent was with the title. Singular/Plural can be vague in shortened Japanese text.

Well, you did say, "If I had to officially translate the title..."

Now, if you had said, "If I had to rename this title for localization..." I wouldn't have replied.

That's why I said 'OFFICIALLY translate', which is different from just translating. And considering I spent half the posting talking about it, it should have been obvious.

I hate being taken a fool for no reason :/

Edit: And sorry for the 'fuck you'. Don't want to make you feel bad. I just hate myself and let my anger hit you. Sorryn

    NP.

That said, I don't think it is obvious, but if you had explained I would've understood in retrospect, like I do now.

I dropped this after skimming through episode one. Please save yourselves and do the same.

Jesus Christ, is there a rule that says isekai has to have the dumbest names possible?

I thought it was a tongue in cheek tradition now that light novels have mouthful-entirely-too-specific titles at this point?

    Episode 6:

I dunno. This show isn't silly enough for a comedy show and not serious enough for light drama. Latest episode especially felt lacking.

Honestly, and I don't want to veer too much into incest fantasies, but it'd be SO much more interesting if Masato actually decided to date his mom. Like, how'd show react? That'd be exciting to watch. Shun him? Allow him to proceed? Give up on him? The resulting drama is something I'd love to watch, no matter what happens. Unforunately, such anime doesn't exist as I learned in the recommendations topic.

It is also possible that you have grown into someone who needs something else anime can't give you as you are slowly drifting away from targeted audience groups.
