Well, they FINALLY explained how he ended up a slave.
There's so much time inbetween, that moment fell flat on my. I just thought "ah, guess I missed/forgot that scene".
Otherwise, I had hoped Thorfinn would make a better argument. Well, maybe something happens next week.
Or Thorgill decapitates Canute, now that all the attention is on Thorfinn, and all hell breaks loose, lol.

I was happy with this, and if no episodes followed I would have still been okay. But now we get to see Thorfinn go home.

The welcome wasn't as emotional as I would have liked it to be, but it made sense that nobody knows who that grown asss man is, considering Thorfinn went missing at age 6.
Now the wait for season 3 begins. I hope the pacing gets better and tells more story, but I also definitely want to see how they build the first time in Vinland

It was a good wind-down episode. I didn't care much for the sister. His mother recognising him from "fake Thorfinn" played out similarly to what I had expected in my head (I thought they'd plan the gag first instead of it being spontaneous).
I wonder if the only reason that Thors himself didn't go to Vinland was because he was travelling with a baby already.

Maybe? Wouldn't have stopped Thors going if he wanted to avoid people, but I guess he's also counting on everyone thinking he's dead.

I nearly forgot about this show... and I'm so flipping grateful that I remembered I still had to watch the second season.
What a great season.
Thorfinn turning into a pacifist the way he did was actually great to watch - and not boring at all.
And Arnheid's arc got me bawling for like 4 episodes straight. That stuff was beyond just being "sad", it devastated me.
This season had so many well written characters, even the likes of Olmar were actually interesting to watch because they weren't just some throw away one dimensional joke characters and I actually love how it turned out for him.
Technically, season 2 ended at a point where the story itself wouldn't require another season, but I sure would love another season anyway.
Wow, being able to watch this season without wait between episodes must ave been such a superior experience. The pacing was abysmal for a weekly show, should have been a movie.

It being a movie would never bring it justice though and would be super boring.
I'd recommend this show to anyone in a heartbeat.
I think the second season was much better than the first but it's basically two different shows. Season 1 was a lot more "fiction" with action and heroics.
Season 2 was a lot more grounded and down to earth and it really got the idea, which Thorfinn's father was advocating for, going.
Both are fine and both put together show the character development that occured in this saga - it's rather refreshing, really.
If there was anything to complain about for me, it would've been the "off screen" encounter of Leif+Thorfinn. It's absolutely right that Arnheid was more important during that time, but as a viewer you expected more to happen - like, I wish it happened later, but then again...I kinda like the idea that "things happen when they happen", not when it's convenient to the story.. and it wasn't overbearing
You could follow Leifs travel to farm and knew he had to be there at that time. So it was just right to have him there.
