If any arc deserved a sequel, that's it.
This arc is so lore heavy, it's great so far. Are we going to be leaving Egghead soon? Maybe this isn't the next major arc, like how Zoan was to Whole Cake + Wano?

I wonder if that cloud thing that appears behind their back is going to be a common facet for Awakened Devil Fruits going forward. Like how Oda didn't think of the black skin thing for Armament Haki until several years after he introduced the Haki.
I just realized Luffy's fruit is a Zoan fruit now. Which means it should have 3 forms. I wonder if his current form is the hybrid form, or the full Nika form.

I wish the workflow/technology that allows fights to be animated like this consistently existed 15 years ago.
I actually found this fight to be really ugly.
I get they're going for something artistic, but in practice, a lot of it looks like Home Movies squigglevision.
Maybe because Luffy's rubberness is more pronounced in gear loony tunes.
Also, I forgot to marvel at the existence of a Devil fruit history record.
I associate that animation with the "once every 240 episodes" motion of yesteryear. The only time I thought it was jarringly ugly was when they did these weird little sweaty cuts during Dressrosa.
I'm honestly hoping that explanation for the origins of fruits is bullshit. The "coalesced will of the human desire for evolution"? That's fucking dumb.
He did say it was just his theory though. So hopefully he's wrong.
I was expecting them to be a leftover product of the tech advanced country that got wiped from history, or for the fruit tree to be a supernatural manifestation of some sort- perhaps an actual devil or another wiped out race more so than 'human desire'. That does sound dumb.
