    What makes you say he's not dead? Does he still serve some narrative purpose in One Piece now that his baton has been passed on? Seems like an elegant end for the character.

    Almost nobody dies in the present in OP, and we didn't even see him die.

    I'm not even fully convinced King Cobra is dead.
