They really chose the merchant a criminal voice. He sounds like some nasty lesser villain boss.
I bet many teachers in real life would be happy if they could have a huge dog in the classroom to keep the modern unruly children in check. And also the monster parents.
I'm quite happy with Rimuru going away from his previous gang to do some teaching and adventuring. It's refreshing to not have him died up in too much politics and just have him discover the world a bit.

I just assume that Ranga will always offer to fight on Rimuru's behalf, even if it's something that's out of his league.

It's really starting to seem to me like a demon lord is someone with sufficient power and influence to declare themselves one. Maybe it also requires others agree to it. It doesn't really seem like one needs to be a monster of any sort. Nothing so far suggests they would need to go through some ritual or swear allegiance to some demon god either.

This didn't actually manage to get any further than what's covered by the manga already, especially if the next ep is not anymore continuing the main story. I used to think this would overtake the manga, but no.
This felt like the end of the season, but there was a next episode.
Was that demon holding the crystal ball the same one he summoned to possess the golem(why the hell did they yadda yadda that btw?)?
There is...a lot going on with Chloe and her spirit that I don't understand? Is she Shizu's reincarnation? Rimuru's girlfriend from the future? Another true dragon?
There are extra episodes next week, but the main story season has finished.
I got the feeling she's future Chloe. I have no idea why Veldora reacts to her however.

Maybe future Chloe actually becomes a Hero with time travelling abilities. And maybe... the same hero was actually the one who travelled back into time to lock up Veldora to ensure Rimuru gets his powerup when he reincarnated into this world.

Nice theory!
I'm curious if the words they said right before the summon might have effected it. Her saying she loves him. Him wishing she'd said it in 10 years. So it summoned, like, 10 year future love interest.
Similar to how the things he thought as he was dying had a huge effect on how he reincarnated.
Will there be another season? Otherwise this anime really went nowhere
Who knows. The source material is still going, so, maybe?
I thought the main storyline for the novels have finished.

I dunno, wikipedia says it's still going.
It was hard for me to figure out whether the LN main story actually finished without reading into plot lines.
I know the novel itself is still being released.

It's very strongly implied that Chloe is the great hero of the past (so time-travel is a must, but Ramiris suggested it already anyway).
The hero is known for sealing Veladora in the cave, which is why he reacted. She was handed the mask that she later passed down to Shizu, which was given to Rimuru, closing the loop. Rimuru felt nothing after the spirit bonded to her, because her future self bonded to...her own body.
