    Kokkoku

In order to save her brother and nephew who have been kidnapped by a mysterious religious group known as the Genuine Love Society, Juri and her family cast a spell using a stone hidden by her grandfather to enter the world of stopped time known as Stasis. However, when they infiltrate the kidnapper's base, they're met by other people who can also move about freely.

First two episodes of Kokkoku are out. Still unsure about this one all told, the plot is a bit lame so far. The character interaction has been solid though, so I can deal with that and a bit of the action we have so far.

    Same mixed feelings.
But I've watched worse till the end, so why not. Will depend on my energy/tolerance levels.

Reminds me of Inuyashiki from last season as a grounded sort of story with a special power to spice it up. I'm excited to see where this goes. I also like that all of the characters are proactive instead of reactive, and the character design is serviceable enough to make the characters quickly distinguishable.

I'm a fan of this character design, which you can find on shows like Mezzo Forte from way back when.

I can see as well why you bring up Inuyashiki. In any case, I'm entertained enough as is.

I'm still traumatized by Wizard Barristers, which I believe shared the same character designer! This has much more of a story to stand on, though.

It does, I haven't watched that show though.

This looked interesting from the trailers but it's taken now to catch up. It's really good. The varied and impressionable characters (particularly the strong female leads), use of dimensional lore and gradual reveals reminds me of Zetsuen no Tempest.

    Episode 12

A very interesting series overall. The Deus ex machina pecked impact but to does answer some of our questions. The characters were more important than the mystery anyway so even of this anime isn't perfect as a complete package I think it's fairly easy to recommend this as something different.

Also Juri was right to have the kid go to hospital after stasis. That guy needs to get immunised.

Even with the Deus Ex, that ep was nice even if rushed when other parts earlier in the show felt way too slow.
I could have done without the Hulk x T1000 parts too...
