The new kid - it makes no sense for him to be Shang's child, but that's the vibe I sort of get. Or maybe Shang killed the kid's dad or something. The audio effect when the kid drew his sword was clearly a wooden effect, but on close inspection his sword has a hilt and looks proper unlike Shang's painted piece of wood.

The significance of needing to hide Juan's identity was also unclear. The kid didn't seem to care who he resembled but just focused on the fact that he's some sort of swordsman that he could test his skills against.

This kid could also be a girl, but I'm going with him being a boy for now.

I did find a group making decent subs of this: https://shaobingsubs.wordpress.com

They're a bit behind (up to episode 7 today), but I'll try to catch up.

Okay...... so all these guys warp and time travel.

Young Shang was brought up by and old man and trained all over the place. The old man is probably actually an older version of Juan.

Lin was the younger version of the demon lord, and Azibělpher was actually either Lang or his instrument?

Yeah, actually, I'm going to need some more explaining, but I didn't expect time travel fuckery.

Not the older version of the current Juan at least. The old guy has a piece of jade on him, as does the young Shang. I don't know if this means they're the same person, or it's simply because one is the caretaker of the other.

Lin was the younger version of the demon lord, and Azibělpher was actually either Lang or his instrument?

Still catching up (ep~ 5) but I agree on how silly and outlandish the minigun and mecha were... but... I can't bring myself to hate them! This show is already so over the top that it sort of fits in like a logical progression.

    Finale on 2025.02.21.

    As for this episode:
-disappointing that Kegai finished as an ugly tentacle monster. Her elegance was the cool thing about her. Sacrificing herself for demonkind was also not very demon of her, as pointed out by Rin Setsuha.
-Demon King invading the human realm didn't make a whole lot of sense right now given that he explicitly said that the current demon race is still not benevolent enough (towards themselves) to rule the surface. It'd make sense for this to be Rin Setsuha pretending to be the Demon King to screw up his plans, but otherwise goes against what they've established thus far.
