Yeah, under stiffer rules. Technically speaking his class is an adventurer, like Yunyun said, but that's not really a class at all, more like a job. I'd say he's rogue because he prefers no to little armor, ranged combat or sneaky close combat. An assassin is very close to a rogue, and the drain spell would fit nicely there. Create water is useful for anyone, except for a sugar man, and freeze is a basic attack skill with some versatily (like freezing a floor and causing enemies to slip). So, by the process of elimination, that would be it, at least. Other classes would fit even less. His behavior certainly fits as well...

there are countless of adventure class like in mmorpgs, for example in Ragnarok Online, the novice was the starting class which didnt ended getting any job skill tree until you changed jobs (swordman, thief, mage, merchant, acolyte, archer), but if you maintained the class long enough you could class change to super novice, which had every first class jobs skills to choose from, but at the same time could not get any advanced skill in the end

To the exp earned comments. In Season one it was stated that Kazuma is a new adventurer, the newer the adventurer the faster they level. When he was fighting the flying cabbages, due to his high luck he killed only the cabbages with very high exp.

I suspect that stands to reason he runs across a lot of enemies/monsters that only give high exp and maybe that why he can level so fast. He may be a base class but it will be one he will excel at very quickly and master it. For all we know maybe that'd the end joke, he becomes the master adventurer a rank no on e achieves cause they change to the Arch classes.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying Aqua doesn't LIKE Kazuma. I'm saying I don't think she has "secret anime crush" on him like I think Megumin and Darkness do.
