Reading minds being Youkai's main esp power, Yashiro couldn't have married her even if he wanted. He had a big secret, after all.

Does it only work on physical contact? She met Yashiro and almost let Satoru get killed.

Caught myself wanting a Airi+Satoru shipping so hard.

Can't express how relieved I was when I saw them together under that bridge in the end.

Who the hell holds onto a wheelchair + person with one hand?
You'd be suprised, I'm actually doubtful that it was as hard as Yaricho made it out to be during the first few seconds, in fact I'm pretty sure it was only so hard for him because he had to compensate for the momentum.
By the looks of it, the center of gravity was barely over the edge. Not that it matters, really.

Overall, I have no issue with how this show ended. I think it was reasonable and a pretty good ending for a show like this.

Hot sig + Avatar Shinta, who's the artist.

Circumstantial evidence be damned. A big part of this was obviously a play on how biased the justice system is in Japan. Once someone fingers you for a crime, game over. Based on those hints alone, I have no problem believing the simple act of going off the roof would get Yashiro thrown behind bars. Although would've been interesting to not have anything resolved for him, thread still attached, and him plotting more murders from behind bars.

I also didn't mind Revival not being fully explained how he got it. It's like explaining how a child has talent in an instrument or art. They just have it. His happens to be a particularly unusual type. He even named it. I'm definitely okay with that.

Erased I think also basically fits in two ways: First was the one mentioned, that he was erased for 15 years from his home. Second is that he erased that town's bad history. In essence, not only did he make "a town without me" by erasing himself, he also made it a town without domestic violence, without loneliness, and without three vicious murders followed by more. So, not entirely out of reach. But, the original title is still much more suiting.

You know... that expression on the pizza manager's face when Satoru saw him on the bike... almost angry, like "oh, just lost my underage eye candy" angry. Well, maybe he'll settle for Misato. Send her his way haha.

That last butterfly though, you saw Satoru turn to walk the opposite way and it was the butterfly that led him back toward where Airi was. You know how the "opposite of believe in me" part always comes up? I think this was the same thing, remember the beginning where he was saying how Revival only evens things out, and at times turns out bad for him? Well, this was kind of it's own Revival in that it pulled him back from a bad decision to a positive future. Sort of signifying that Revival was done, he no longer had to right wrongs. Almost a cosmic reward.

When they rolled the cast though I was so worried Airi wouldn't show back up, until he went under that bridge. Nice Re:Re: graffiti too (title song). It also answered the question from the first ep about why she was at the pizza store (to earn money for a camera and be a photographer, looks like since I'd guess that's pro class equipment). That was a great way to make a new connection though, even though he knows her already it felt fated they got pushed back together. Maybe now he'll start seeing strings too.

Still, most epic scene of the series I will never forget:
"Am I in the way here?"
    "Yeah."

Satoru was so fail in that scene. His reply should've been, "I could always go through you, Mom."

Just watched the first 3 episodes of this series, and I'm loving it. I think I should be done with it by tomorrow.

I'm 9 episodes in, and this has been great. A bit disappointed that we haven't seen Satoru use his adult wits, but whatever.

I'll just say this for now, kinda pissed off that they made the English title "Erased" instead of the actual translation "The Town Without Me" or something along those lines, which is either the title or in reference to Kayo's freaking awesome essay.

Anyways, will finish the series once I get home from work. I do wish the series was a bit longer, since it would've been nice to spend more time on both "timelines" or however you want to call it.

The title gets reused a lot in the story. I was pretty pissed with the Erased title too.

Alright, I'm done. Fucking loved this series. Yes, there's petty things I can point out to ruin my enjoyment, but really I just loved the characters, the atmosphere, and the overall story. Everything worked well for me.

    OP/ED were awesome though.

Damn, I wish this was longer only because I wanted to see more of these characters.

Anyways, well done. Certainly deserves a spot among the favorites.

If this were longer, it would've been a masterpiece among masterpieces. Most of the issues are forced by the length, particularly the jarring ending, which I would have you know, is better in the anime than in the manga source.

Yep, I read your earlier posts on this regard. But I also gathered that other than execution, it's practically the same?

You mean the ending? It is essentially the same. That's very different from being practically the same. It's like how a species goes extinct because of over hunting versus a meteor impact. The methods are different, but they end the same way. Even so, the means matters.

The manga ending is comically convoluted and contrived (wow I managed to use those two words to describe one thing!). The anime ending is that too, but not comically, which is much better.

There's a side story manga that just began, not sure what it'll cover.
