I feel like you guys are overstating the amount of lizard sex that was in those episodes.
Perhaps you're remembering it so vividly because it awakened something in you...

Not lizard sex. Lizard sexual references. And if you doubt that, I can actually timestamp you.
Peace.
Season 3 Episode 1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"ALL RIGHT! I sat down in a way befitting of a ruler!"
Too bad Ainz doesn't have his human form anymore.... It's really... inconvenient
And it ends with sexual charges against Albedo.
But it's funny to find out she is a succubus maiden and that Shalty enjoys the women more simply because there aren't any good men around. Also found out that Albedo is very hairy down under. Not sure why we needed that information.
Episode 2

The anime actually did skip volume 7, by the looks of it, which makes me happy. The contents of this ep were mainly from volume 8. Volume 7 doesn't really contribute to the larger story, although it builds the world somewhat. The pace seems as unhurried as ever, though. I guess I can't get used to that.
Episode was pretty boring, but Ainz trying to fish for answer was funny nonetheless
I enjoy Ainz talking to his subjects more than I enjoy action scenes with the human kingdoms.
Yeah it is pretty fun watching him trying to stay in character when they think he is all-knowing.
The world conquest was from the second episode of the first season. He said that on a whim saying it might be fun but Demiurge was behind him so yeah...that's where that came from.
Episode 3 is out.
I'm guessing Carne Village is going to be the foot hold of his new kingdom with the attention it's getting.
Making Enri important by letting people know Momon personally vouched for her. I am guessing Nabe handled the Adventure's guild or she got Momon to do that. Enri is just pushed into power. I mean she now also commands 5 Ogres.
Also, more Lupisregina is always nice to see. Did not expect this darker side of her though then again she is one of the combat maids that do not care about human lives.
Some of the maids do, or are at least sympathetic, most don't.
I very much doubt the village will truly thrive to become something great (that's Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, which has an anime in the fall), but I also don't think it will be destroyed like Lupisregina desires. Ains and Narberal both seem to respect Enri and want her to succeed. Hamusuke helped her at the guild.
They might get attacked, but the will survive to continue their work, merging humans with nonhumans.
Ainz most certainly wants to keep the village running because he saved it and the alchemist boy is basically working for him, but on the other hand Ainz's means are limited. He most of the time has no idea what his underlings are planning, and can only afterwards accept their deeds as if they were a part of his own calculations. The village's only hope is that the other Nazarick folks have realised Ainz wants to keep the village alive.
Plus that boy has the ability to use ANY magical item in the world so it's smart to keep that under is control.
He's also the experiment to see the comparison to the entire crafting system from the game is present, and the skill level of the residents.
And he's making progress...
Episode 4 is out:
He is certainly getting the hang of being an Overlord. Knowing he can't stop his subordinates overblown image of him, he uses it to make covers up for his mistakes. So now the forest is basically under his full control.

If Ains is going to kill the village people to get the 3 to join him in his palace I'll honestly be suprised.
That would be so much darker than I'd expect him to be and set a completely different tone to his rule.
Was disappointed on how terrible these two monsters were. I don't mind that Ainz had an easy time with them, but they just seemed terrible to me.
Regardless, enjoyed the episode.
I got bored by this episode. The monsters are too insignificant to warrant all this attention and screen time.
I liked the comedy as usual, but I'm getting tired of the power fantasy beat downs.
Peace.
I think the beat downs are fine, that's what overlords main theme is after all.
What I disliked is the looks in general, not a nasty looking lizard like in Maou to Shoukan's first or second episode, but a naruto-filler looking "Naga" in ragged cloth and a pretty generic, not even remotely detailed troll. (wth)

That was terrible too.
I'm all for beatdowns if they mean something. Those two were as filler-ish as you can get.
Peace.
