Regarding Evil Eye, the surprising thing is how accurately she measures people. Even Ains has to physically test someone out to assess their strength. Maybe she does have an evil eye out another ocular power to facilitate that. It's in her name after all.

Entoma was unfortunate to run into bug spray, but I don't think Evil Eye knew about her weakness prior to the actual engagement, which would suggest she thought of herself as superior even without relying on bug spray being super effective.

Nabe too ran into a magic resistant Dragon, but that was on a much different level.

I would've thought the same. But not sure why he would need to say that. For example, if they know who he is, then there's no need for the warning. If they don't know who he is, who cares... he's stronger than them regardless. Guess we'll see.

I have never even thought about it, but I'd say all the guardians, Sebas, and the battle maids know Momon's identity. They are occasionally sent out to do various tasks. Plus, you know, they would talk with each other. What's the point of trying to keep it secret?

Second stage of the plan is just Momon fighting his own minions with humans as an audience to further increase his fame.

Just a single episode remaining. It'll have quite a pace. Actually the pace is already quite hurried compared to the beginning of the arc. I expected them to end the season before this Jaldabaoth incident based on how slowly the arc began. Still, I can, more or less, now see where they will concentrate the remaining minutes.

Evileye falling for Momon and the confusion following was much better in the novel. It felt too abrupt in the anime. On the other hand Renner seems crazier here in the anime in my opinion. I guess it's due to seeing her face.

Yes, just a little bit stronger, Sebas. Just a little bit. And nobody believed him.

With one more episode to go, this has the feeling of RUSH. So hoping we get some more after that episode. Honestly a bit disappointed with how the Momon fight played out. It seemed... underwhelming. Cool, but underwhelming.

I'm pretty sure we would know by now if this season wasn't ending with this. The pacing simply was less than stellar. They should have cut an episode from the lizards and given this arc one more ep. But I'm sure the director had his reasons, whatever they might have been.

Momon vs Jalda felt like really bad acting, with Evil eye falling 100% for it. It seems like she's a relic from the last time a "player" rocked up in this world.

I'm not at all sure anymore how much of this incident is impromptu anymore. Momon's explanation wasn't stellar (making it seem like he jumped in on Demiurge without planning) but Demiurge's reactions suggest he knows and is playing along.

I don't think I can call this one of my top 3 this season, though it's still entertaining in bits and pieces.

It's never easy to say. Ainz can't communicate too much with the guardians because he feels the need to keep up his godly image, meaning he assumes the guardians assume he always knows what they are planning to achieve with their actions. In fact the guardians assume Ainz knows even better than the guardians themselves what's the best way to reach the goal. Thus if Demiurge initiates some plan of his, like this one, and Ainz suddenly intervenes, Demiurge automatically believes Ainz knows what Demiurge was planning but decided to add something to it to make it even better. Of course in reality Ainz had only vague ideas as he more or less only knew Demiurge will do something in the capital. That's why he made Nabe ask some things discreetly. On the other hand since Demiurge is a genius (because his stats and description made him such), he adapts easily.

This works better in the novel since it naturally explains Ainz's thoughts (and fears) in depth. This might be the single most important source of repeated comedy in it. It's my belief one big reason why he likes to travel as Momon is because that allows him to get a break. Aside from Nabe badmouthing humans all the time, nobody outside is giving him such stress and expecting him to be omniscient.

In any case, I do hope the resurrection spell sticks with the ninja chick. Also, sad to see that Sebas part in all of this has ended. For me he was the star of this season. I also feel like the first season packed a lot of content while this one was limited, in part because of the pacing of the arcs. Crossing fingers for more, still quite enjoyable.

Overall disappointing sequel.

Overlord is like a light novel trying to be an adult novel, complete with the numerous characters and varying POVs, when in reality it is still generic OP isekai.

The first season had a clear and compact direction with limited but relevant characters, all intended to show how OP Nazarick is.

The second season had scattered stories with a whole bunch of cliche and essentially irrelevant characters, all intended to show how OP Nazarick is.

That difference defined quality for me.

I hoped to see a "see you later" @ the end.
However, it's probably not that unlike to get a third season.

I laughed so hard when the mantis-maid got angry when she saw Evileye again. That was such a cute little detail.


Anyway, just looking at the LN Cover and comparing the artwork with what has happened so far and in this season... it's really not doing it any justice.

This franchise is dead to me, unfortunately. Stopping the story like that with no hope for a s3 is a giant 'fuck you' to all fans.

Why would they have that sort of scene at the end if there was no hope for a 3rd season? In fact this show wasn't even supposed to have this second season, so who knows what might happen. Unless the lackluster lizard arc practically killed the demand for more anime, of course. That being said, if they make a 3rd season, I hope they will largely skip the next novel in the series. I can't remember if that last scene even was from the next novel at all or a later one already.
