So the trick to getting rid of immortal Zamasu will be his fusion with Goku-Zamasu.
Since the earing fusion is absolute, can't be undone and Goku-Zamasu isn't immortal, killing the fusion between immortal Zamasu and Goku-Zamasu will also kill immortal Zamasu.

I do not see Mafuba playing a role. It's long in the past now, but I think I remember Mafuba wasn't very effective against an oponent that would be considered extremely weak and slow by current time DB universe. You could always argue that the technique's power also depends on the caster's powers. But since it was a bit slow to cast and act, and since the pot is so fragile and abvious target when the casting is starting, I do not think it can work against an oponent who is at least as fast as you are and probably as strong too... But more importantly a lot more cuning and intelligent.

I think we get an ability multiplier when fusioning. Dying is a zero, very hard to counter with another ability.

Both Vegetto and Gogeta are an option at this point. Remember, there are 2 Kaioshin around with perfectly good earrings. Gogeta won't be enough to get this guy, because of the 30 min time limit (remember, the 'more power = less fusion time' is GT bullshit, and even there it's just a theory of Goku). I think Gomasu/Zamaku will be too much for Gogeta. That type of fusion kind of relies on overpowering your opponent and finishing him quickly. The Gotenks-Super Boo fight shows just that. I'd say Vegetto is the only viable option at this point, if they go with fusion.

Here's the thing, you need to actually practice a bunch to do the fusion dance. And I don't think Vegeta and Goku have ever practiced together, because they don't actually like the idea of fusing.

I just want to chime in and say: It´s fookin´ stupid how Vegeta and Son Goku think they can kill immortal enemies by simply overpowering them. Even worse that it seems to be working, looking at Black´s stressed out reaction to Vegeta´s power.

And FUCK YOU, Mai. This special plot-no-jutsu bullet could be a million times stronger than a normal bullet, it still wouldn´t be near as powerful as one of Goku´s standard Kamehameha. Seriously, that scene was infuriating. Any person with a brain would accept that Black is out of a normal human being´s league. Maybe Kuririn could do something. ;>

Well, yeah. Because Black ISN'T immortal. So Vegeta CAN kill him just by overpowering him.

And if there is a limit to Zamasu's regeneration then he ISN'T truly immortal. In which case the dragon can't grant immortality.

Only Zamasu wished for immortality. Black even said in a few episodes earlier that he doesn't want it because with his body he can keep on getting stronger. Zamasu is always trying to take his blows because he can't die but Black can.

You believe incorrectly. They both wished for different things. First Zamasu wished to switch bodies with Goku. Second Zamasu wished for Immortality.

Saiyans have exactly rule. They get a powerup every time they almost die. If you're immortal, you can't almost die.

Except Black seems to have found a way around that. Earlier on he just fought and got stronger. He wasn't beaten to pulp or anything.
