Think he's a different Zamasu who hasn't been fully corrupted yet. He hasn't killed his master yet so he hasn't stolen the Time Rings yet either. Also...very strange seeing Goku having an actual intelligent answer before anyone else. What I don't understand is what is keeping him from going to the past to finish the job instead of waiting like a true DBZ villain? To him it would be even better. Twice the Justice for one planet.

Why not go back to before Goku is born and kill his mother?

Guys, the rings only go to the future.
You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To that end each of us must work for his own improvement, and at the same time share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid those to whom we think we can be most useful. -Marie Curie

^ this. You can only use the rings to go forward in time, then return to the point you left from.

Do Dragon Balls transcend time, though? Assume you go to the future, make somebody else whish that you become immortal. Now you go back to the past and kill that person before you visited him in the future to make the wish. Is the wish cancelled?

Or he could just ask the dragon to kill Goku/make it so Goku never existed. Instead, he chose immortality/black because the bad guys cannot actually win in a series like this at the end.

If the method requires no fights, then there's no point in the show and poor Goku who gets no fun.
I just hope the button does not play a role in solving the problem.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

Nah, it would simply result in an alternate timeline. Not canceling the wish.

Since time travel is seemingly gravely forbidden, going by Beerusī reaction a couple episodes earlier, itīd be a good explanation to say that Dragon Balls cannot tinker with time.

I wouldn`t say gravely forbidden, Beerus mentioned that is not allowed but he did not give a whole lot of fucks about it and even allow them to keep on doing it.

No. Because DB operates on multiverse theory. When you change the past, you create a new timeline. But you wouldn't be effected by the changes you make because you're from a different timeline.

I thought it was interesting that they said every time someone changed the past, a new one of those rings that was with the Time Ring was created. I'm curious if you can use those rings to visit those unaltered timelines.

Simply killing Goku though doesn't actually solve Zamasu's problem. His problem is the threat to the universe that mortals pose, of which Goku is simply a symptom.

Wishing away Goku doesn't make it so another mortal can't rise up and do the same thing.

Wishing for the power to take care of the problem himself solves his problem in the long run.

    Sure.

Side note: Turns out that in the previous series, characters like Goku and Namekians were referred to as Human, even when the characters knew that they were aliens, so Zamasu calling everyone a Human is not new.

    59 is out
    -----------------

As we can see from the preview, it was bs anyway. Still, why would a god be exempt from the rules to time and space? That would fuck up everything. Had Beerus been right and killing Zamasu would have erased him completely, then that would have changed not only the future, but also the past. Now, there might be something special going on with future Zamasu being immortal, which still leaves us with that dumb special rules for a godīs death. Meh.

Also, did future Trunks fight on par with SS small Trunks? Sigh, why do they keep fucking up power-levels so badly?
Also, why isnīt Trunks trying to get level up?
And WHERE THE FUCK is Gohan? Seriously, heīs such a disappointment and failure :/ Could someone please explain to him that by training and being powerful, he truly protects his familiy? His cute Videl and Pan would long be dead without his "stupid" grandpa.

Oh, and shut up, future Mai. "I have to take it in my own hands", yeah, whatya gonna do? Shoot Black into the face with a shotgun? He will laugh. Then obliterate your and your kiddy friends.

Pretty sure Trunks was just depressed that his only hope got their asses kicked plus he found out his enemy is literally immortal.
And bout Gohan, I do agree that it's just one big disappointment with that guy. He used to be stronger than SSJ3 Goku! Yes, he doesn't like fighting and yes both Vegeta and Goku are stronger than him again so he doesn't think they need him. Let's hope they find some use for him after or during this arc.

maybe gohan's role is just being a proxy character for the viewer?

in dragon ball we had both goku and krilling as proxy characters.

with dragon ball Z gohan started to be the proxy character, starting small as we were, then he started growing stronger in the cell saga. and by the buu saga he was already in high school being the "super hero of justice" (ala spiderman)

15 years later, we have all grown up, some of us are studying our degrees while some of us are already starting a family, just as gohan is doing.

we cannot proxy with the rest of the characters, goku and vegeta are freaking alien gods, picorro is another solitary alien thats like an uncle for gohan/good friend of goku. we can proxy with krillin or yamcha but they are weak as fuck and we dont want to proxy with that.

gohan is the fantasy character we want to be, a family guy with the potential to be stronger.

Sorry, I started with the very begining of the original dragonball run... So my proxy remains Goku as I'm in the same age group as he is...
Regarding Gohan, he's half sayan. So although he has an incredible potential, he probably lacks some of the pride and alpha hormones.
Future Trunks this ep was somehow following that same path. But chibi Trunks, well pushed by his over the top father, did put him back on tracks.

Regarding Zamasu, he saw that coming and used the time rings, or he was already immortal, or his wish in the future can create a time paradox ie: I'm immortal now, so even if someone kills pe in the past, when we get back to now I'm alive again.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

Goku is in his forties, so am I.
And I have no child, so no grandchild either.
Goku hasn't been a grandfather for long either, Pan is quite young.

I gotta say, I really enjoyed watching Beerus just vaporize a guy. It's the first real God of Destruction thing he's done.

I think if you count the years, I thought Goku was in his early 50s. Vegeta is at least 10 years older than Goku or couple more. Vegeta is either in his late 50s or early 60s I think.
