This show is easy to watch, except for the fact that Takeo's low self-esteem here stops him from seeing the obvious that Yamato likes him. In his defence her moves are a bit hard to decipher. I feel that the animators are being intentionally confusing at times which is good. The reveal came much closer than I thought though, so where is the story going to go from there? Sunakawa starts making his move on his first girl?

(The main pair reminds me of the first scenario from Hatsukoi Limited, while the Sunakawa is pretty much Taichi from Chihayafuru in form)

edit: after finding the above pic, I prefer that shot of Yamato compared to the ones we've gotten from the anime. It's still cute, but less "helpless animal that only knows how to cook" cute.

"Easy to watch" indeed. It´s not yet something special, but it´s just nice to follow. Although the flashback in ep1 hit too close to home, seeing hot guy Sunakawa getting all the girls, while Takeo always lost out on them.
Although it´s not that clear why he couldnt get a gf so far. I mean, ... try making Takeo a big fatass like me, THAT would be reasonable. He´s just big and strong, girls should like that.

Amazing how in one episode they divert all the sympathy from Takeo to Sunakawa. You can argue that Takeo's been serving as a litmus test for all the girls approaching Sunakawa, but the fact remains that Suna may be suppressing any feelings he has for Yamato in order to help out Takeo. If Takeo gets picked rarely because of his looks, then Suna's pool is equally low if he'll only accept someone that also Takeo.

I'm not a fashion model myself and would actually appreciate if I levelled up some in the Beauty attribute. Most of us think like that I think. Then you have someone like Suna who thinks the beauty gets in the way of finding someone who's truly attracted to him as a person and also has a good heart. The grass is always greener on the other side huh?

I'm very happy that they're not beating around the bush and breaking out the "truth" by episode 3.

That's not the case here. Suna didn't like those girls because they badmouthed Takeo, not because they didn't like Takeo back. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of girls out there who would turn Takeo down but not talk crap behind his back. As Suna said, Takeo has bad taste in women.

Yamato's saccharine-cuteness in any other series would make her the most obnoxious character in an ensemble cast of multiple girls.

But in this series she's adorable. It's a very fine line and I honestly don't know how they pulled it off, but I'm glad they did.

This series is not my type of anime at all, but I'm really enjoying it. Fairly funny too, quite decent comedic timing.

Nah, it's probably something ridiculously mundane like: "I'm moving to Hokkaido/Los Angeles next month."

The hints have primarily been that she lives alone in the house.

I love the fact that Ai fits the shoujo series trope of the allied sister. Except that while she's still the bishonen's sister, but she's the ally and secret love interest of the "heroine" Takeo.

This series nicely meets most of the usual shoujo tropes of a tomboy lead (except he's an ultra-masculine lead) and the instant-ally older sister of the bishonen. Yamato kinda fills the role of the effeminate bishonen (with a hidden dark secret), except she's actually just super feminine...with some kind of secret.

It's all very meta if you've read a shit-ton of shoujo manga.

secondly ... wtf Takeo. I call bs. That shit was just to unrealistic. No guy would ever contemplate practicing kissing with a male friend. come oooon. No. Just no. Let alone that he sexually abused his best friend. so much eww...
