That's not how percentages work, David. In my statement, if you take the 1% hentai porn out of Shizuka, she becomes 100% Shizuka again. 100% refers to her entire being, be it part alien or not. It is a ratio of her composition, not a sum of parts.

Peace.
everybody stop being obtuse. for arguments sake: Right now, thereīs the Benisuzume pilot. Itīs 100% Hoshijro and an unknown percentage of Gauna placenta. We donīt know to what part this pilot is what, though. And thatīs all. Assuming, that this is the real Hoshijiro at all.
@last episode: I liked it, but is it really over now? Thereīs so much left untold. I reeeally hope this show returns as soon as possible. And in the meantime .. fucking animate "BLAME!", ffs.
"She's the only non-loli girl in the show, your honor!" will be my defense in court
We weren't arguing about the exact percentage because no one knows that (and it doesn't matter, tbh). We were arguing about the notation. I would've understood if you complained about it being off topic, but your reply is, well, obtuse.
Peace.
The kiss and flowers blooming was strange. In a good way though, it raises a lot of questions. The pilots we've seen consumed have been simply consumed, so we don't know what happened in the inner workings. Was this how Gauna convert humans into Gauna like Hoshijiro? Or is there something special that still exists between G-Hoshijiro and Tanikaze that could have led to some kind of different connection between Gauna and Human? Very curious on what exactly she was doing to him. Benisuzume definitely had a personality, and with every personality comes motive, not simply animalistic instinct like the other Gauna appear to be operating by... That ending sequence did seem a bit final... I sure hope it isn't, there's wayyy too much left out.
Actually, in a way, this series seemed very like Candidate for Goddess, but much more realistic in the overall scheme. And as was said earlier, less of the godly worship of machines thing. Although I really did like the Candidate for Goddess Pilot/Repairer aspect, that part at least would've been nice to see through before it got cut.
From the begining, it could be interpreted that Gauna were trying some kind of communication. But it was also stated that communication could be near impossible, like humans with ants.
I'm also wondering wether Gauna really is from alien origin, or created by humans...
Kunato's comments, Gauna affinity for humans are, that led me to that idea.
And yes the story is far from completion. I wonder where the manga is for example.
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Finally caught up and finished it.
This season was awesome. Tsumugi ftw.
Her sound effects have to be made using balloons.
Where can I buy a Tsumugi hug pillow?
I found this season to be pretty amazing on the comedy aspect. I just want their ship to turn around and we'll have the Tanikaze harem show.
Great juxtaposition after defeating Benisuzume. Tanikaze had a placenta girl in his lap and then his robot also had a slightly different placenta girl in its arms.
I took a peek at the manga to see how far it is, and it looks like this season ended around chapter 41-42 or so (this manga is monthly).
Currently up to 75 have been translated. Though scanning through to find the right chapter, it looks like maybe they changed the timeline of some stuff and swapped stuff around. I didn't look to hard, though.
Either way, the art doesn't seem to be that great, so I think I'm just going to wait for the next anime instead of reading the manga.
I look forward to the misadventures of Tanikaze and our favorite balloon animal.
Found this great fanart:

And this figure (though she looks a little too fleshy to be cute in this rendition):

Resurrecting! Anyone hear of any projected dates or if they are even continuing the anime at all?
The worst kind of bump

Has anyone seen the movie btw? Afaik it's the quasi-season 3 of the anime. Any good?

ABOUT THE MOVIE:
At the half way point and I just need to share this quote:
"You're not too big at all! You're only 15 meter taller than me!"
(movie is good btw., feels 1:1 like another season)
EDIT:
It's really a 3rd season and I loved that. It's more Sidonia, which is what I wanted.
As for the ending, I guess what I'm disappointed about is:
- so what exactly were the Gauna what was their goal, beyond killing people?
- why was Yuhata suddenly male? That was kinda dumb.
- are we supposed to believe that the Gauna danger is over now?
And while I like a good happy end, espcially in a story that often is as cruel and hopeless as this one, Tsumugi getting the Hoshijiro-body just was a bit too much wish-fullfilment for Tanzikaze. Like, that's what a horny weeb like me might dream about, but it's not what you'd put in the actual story. I actually enjoyed the Tanikaze-15m alien relationship. I actually thought that when Tsumugi was burning down inside the sun, that he body would end up in just the right size, lol. That would have still left her with an alien appearance, but a more everyday-szie to live with Tanikaze. Oh well.
Oh, I was super mad though at the scene where Ochiai killed 120 Gardes with his one energy blast. Like, wtf, I literally said out aloud "too many". Sidonia doesn't have that many pilots no the material to recuperate such losses. I guess that's how you know it's the end of the story. Still, so many pilots dying ... and not enough reaction from the others.
Ah, I'll stop complaining, because it makes it look like I didn't enjoy the movie. I really liked it. Mostly fast-paced, good action, creepy scenes, as well as nice, happy scenes. Could have been better, but it could also have been much worse. I'll take this. Now please turn BLAME! into an anime.

Yeah, I don't get some of this movie.
So Ochiai talked to Gauna.. and then what did he do? He left it as "it's got too much data to sort out right now" but does it have sentient will etc? We didn't get much.
They made a big deal about using manual machines to beat the intelligent Gauna because they could read inputs, but then they just turned Autonomous mode off...
In order for the Blood Worm thing to work, Tsumugi would have had to know about it and be able to produce one first. I don't think there was any scene depicting that as such, so it kinda came out of nowhere. I also don't know if that "Hoshijiro" was a human body or not.. but apparently it is and can reproduce normally so whatever.
Other little details were weird, like the lakeside scene where Tanikaze lost his balance because Tsumugi was boiling water, but he landed on her and kissed her. No burns.
I'm glad they explained the bear.

edit: read through some Sidonia Wiki, seems like the movie changes a few things (like Kanata).

If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
Regarding the "is Hoshijirou a human body?": I kinda always thought that the Gauna and humans are somewhat similiar in how the Gauna looked like flesh/muscles. They also kept trying to get closer to being human, first with the Benisuzume, then the Hoshijirou-body, then Tsumugi, at last Ochiai. This is what frustrates me a bit about the abrupt ending: It ignores all the higher concepts and just gives us the happy end for Tanikaze - which is nice but eh.
Buff, feel to post the differences in the manga in spoiler tags or send me a pm, I don't plan on reading the manga now that the anime is finished. thx
