Why did they fight head on, damnit? I thought the purpose of luring Trebol away was so they could sneak the grape into her basket.

Considering how many of them she hit, I doubt they could sneak it in there. Perhaps Usopp will shoot it into her mouth and Robin can force her to eat it.
Just because she can move quickly doesn't mean she can sense them if they're discrete enough.
