I think last season, it was heavilly implied -but not told if I remember right- that it was a possiblity to end-up as a gobblin.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Fucking Deen, this season is terrible.
Episode 10 - HS

Did William secretly have so many fans that we needed this episode? Everything you never wanted to learn about William Massachusetts you will learn from this episode. Yeah, that pretty much episode long scene was one of those that I expected to end at any moment, but when it never did, it almost made me laugh, thinking "is this for real?".
Since I'm not one of William's secret fans, I can say that nothing at all happened in this episode. Fortunately the next episode looks better.
William is a Shiroe fan, though, haha.
A 20 minute pep talk, that's what this show has been reduced to.
The worst thing wasn't William's talk, but watching everyone stand up one at a time. I lost it there.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
LOL. I wonder how they timed that so no one would stand at the same time by mistake.
Peace.
Telepathy. They were already talking to each other so it wouldn't be awkward if just one person stood up.
Oh, I forgot they could chat like that. So while their leader was being all emotional, they were secretly meeting to decide on the order of who will stand up. That first dude must be either lucky or have a lot of influence.
Peace.
Or he stood and said First!
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
It's a game guys, /random, /roll whatever, the highest roll gets to stand up first!
The second season of this show is probably one of the worst I've seen.
I can't say I liked a single episode of it so far, at least I don't remember liking one.
The fighting is "meh", the talk and semi-politics are boring and I couldn't care less for D.D.D. guild leader, let alone the princess.
Really boring overall.
Well, at least it feels like they *are* playing a Fantasy MMO, when it comes to raids/buffs/classes etc. unlike SAO for example.

I don't think I've ever read them before, but when checking ANN for anime news, I noticed the front page critic's impression of this Log Horizon ep 10.

This second season has been more or less bullshit so far, but, come on, it hasn't been so bad that this absurd episode would be the best of the lot!
I guess William really did have fans.
Wow, reading you guysī reactions is like entering bizarro world. Itīs true, this episode didnīt further the plot in a significant way. But sometimes that is not necessary. This wasnīt about William at all. It was a 20 minute love-speech about what it means to be gamer. And I could totally relate to this speech, almost teared up.
Fantastic episode, even if it didnīt do much for the ongoing story.

20 minutes for that is *way* to long
I didn't even fully grasp what he was trying to say in the first 10 minutes or so tbh.
The last 5-10 minutes were better as he started talking about how they can not only play Elder Tale, but live it. A world were *they* were the stong ones and not losers. It was also cool that he mentioned that you "learn" to play in a team and somtimes even form long lasting friendships (especially in MMOs) and you get to know people just by playing with them often enough.
But 20 minutes for that? Meh...
I totally agree with his view about raiding instead of living the good life in a town though. Not only are you able to remind yourself that this is just a game, but all the people in Akihabara are already so relaxed, they are pretty much no different from the People of the Land anymore... Are they even trying to get out of the game? Didn't feel like anyone but Shiroe is trying to find out why they are here for the last ~20 episodes or so.
If they know it's a game, they should play it, you won't advance otherwise.
I especially loved the first 10 minutes, as it was more general, and not talking specifically about mmorpgs. I never seriously played a mmorpg, their gameplay-mechanics are always based on meaningless, skill-less clicking*. But what William said about gamers in general just was too true.
*if we ever get Matrix-like mmorpgs, ill be the first to buy it.

Raid bosses that hurt themselves,.. that's some crazy stuff there. I would have said that if you could run to the final goal without fighting the bosses then you should do just that, but the big bird with the gold would mean fighting 4 at once, so I guess Shiroe made the right call there.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
you think the angel/bird thing is another boss? I doubt it, otherwise Shiroe shouldnīt stand a chance.
I always figured the best way to fight three bosses at once would be to lead them into hurting each other. But maybe Im looking at things too much from a Monster Hunter perspective :P
However, Id like to know what the trigger is for the successful completion of this raid. Shiroe and Demikas simply ran to the "goal". Why not ignore the three bosses and run there with everyone? And if itīs required to beat all bosses, then why not leave Shiroe with the others, so they could fight the angel/bird thing together? Makes no sense.

The preview explicitly mentioned that the bird was a raid boss.
That doesn't mean he is as powerful as the other bosses though. That, or he may have some weakness the villain will uncover and exploit. I actually hope it becomes a negotiation and Shiroe triumphs using his intellect and lies.
Peace.
I don't think the raid bosses would do that. They came to each other's aid, and then the other guy made sure to keep hurting himself to produce minions when there were none.
I don't think Shiroe nor Demikas knew what was beyond the door leading to the goal beyond the fact that there'd be a shitload of gold. However, Id like to know what the trigger is for the successful completion of this raid. Shiroe and Demikas simply ran to the "goal". Why not ignore the three bosses and run there with everyone? Episode 12 - HS

I feel like this show forgot something, namely Crusty, who was sucked in by some evil void episodes ago. The next episode is about Valentine, it seems. I guess somebody will go to Lenessia and tell her it's customary to give a man chocolate on Valentine. And only then will everybody finally remember nobody knows where the man is, or if he even exists anymore.
Demikas and his unimpressed but understanding wife make a funny pair, I have to say.
