What? I thought it was quite evident here that Miyu is worried about Ilya and doesn't want her to play any part in this. She wasn't worred about Ilya exploding and causing damage to the other girls before. She was worried that Ilya almost died.Originally Posted by Kraco
Ilya is afraid to die, and didn't really want to do this job anyway. Ilya is also Miyu's first (and possibly only) friend. She's kicking Ilya out of something she's going to regret later.
Miyu feels that she signed up for the job in return for living a decent life. According to Ilya, she was tricked into this life/death game.
Characters don't look as hot anymore (as in the refined, lithe sort of hot) but I'll still look forward to Irisviel. I really like their (mother and daughter's) eyelashes.

Come on, she wouldn't even look at Ilya at school and wouldn't deign to participate in the same picture story (or whatever) project. She might be socially awkward, but this episode surely gave the impression she's totally looking down on Ilya. She envies Ilya's power but hates her uncontrolled personality that occasionally make the high power a liability (in Miyu's opinion, that is), not an advantage. So, in short, she thinks Ilya has no business collecting the cards and thus is not worthy of being a friend outside of the business either.
I hope that her reason is a little bit of both. People aren't so simple that they always need to have one motivation for everything they do. It would be much better in terms of character development if Miyu reveals that while she is concerned for Illya's safety, her harsh words and behavior are also influenced by darker emotions like envy.
Peace.
It wouldn't be very convincing if she buddy-ed up with Ilya at school and everything outside of card-collecting now would it? She's both socially awkward and logical. She's driving Ilya away from this world that she wasn't prepared for (and doesn't need to risk her life for), and this is the only way she knows.
She is upset (not angry) at the end of episode 07 (right before the credits) and gives the Illya household a curious (from my perspective) look before she enters her house at ep08 13:09. The entire exchange between her and Rin (particularly Rin's expression right afterwards when they were alone) points towards whether Miyu was okay with their relationship. All this would seem rather unnecessary if the main concern was about Illya's performance.
I'm sure Miyu told Rin and Luvia exactly what her intentions were right after Illya flew off crying in episode 07. Rin initially thought Miyu was being way too harsh, but has not questioned it since. Her expression at the end of episode 08 was one that shows "it can't be helped" more so than worry.
Miyu does things methodically. If she's decided that she wants to drive Illya away, she'll do it effectively and resolutely. She won't screw up (or tries not to) and go "tehehe, you found out" afterwards.
Back in Episode 07 or 06, Illya says she called Miyu a friend but didn't understand the weight that carried. It hinted that this is what Miyu would do for someone she acknowledges as friend.
I think at this stage there's at most a hint of envy, or none at all. Miyu was pissed after she saw Illya fly so effortlessly, but after she found out that such imagination requires no consideration or thought for reality, I think she decided that it was not pursuing. She's less of a "magical girl" than Illya, but after understanding her couldn't (and won't be willing to, I'd imagine) be an airhead to achieve it.Originally Posted by shinta

Y'all should seriously read the manga, it has... i can't say what it has without spoiling it but rest assured that you won't be disappointed.
I'm no Shinta ( or Marik, or Bill, or Ryllharu ) but that manga sure does it for me in peculiar ways :3
You mean it is different from the anime?
Peace.
Why are wowing? What part of his post made you wow?
Peace.

Irisveil toying with Illya, pretending to not know what's going on (at least vaguely), in order to help her. Ufufu~♥
Mother of the century.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Boring expected twist is boring and expected.
Peace.
Although I guessed exactly this turn of events in my earlier post and thus can't deny it being exceedingly unsurprising, I'd still neg rep you for calling Iris boring if I was a pettier person. I enjoyed every moment of that super cute mother-daughter pair interaction scene.
Regardless, I think the fight was jolly good and I was happy Miyu was left bleeding and needed to be saved by Ilya, just like I had hoped for in the same earlier post. Miyu actually asking for help would have been too much, she would have died sooner than doing that, so it's okay this way.
I do have to wonder how Ilya cut Berserker with an energy blade, though. Even Excalibur couldn't cut him anymore, and Ilya wasn't equipping Archer to replicate any grand artifact.
I think this version of Berserker adapts and becomes immune to things that killed him. He did not necessarily get harder, he just could not be cut by Excalibur anymore. Reminds me of roaches.
I also liked the Irisviel scene. I am referring to Miyu's true motive. I just wanted there to be a bit more substance in Miyu's character, and not the usual overused development. God knows from all I have seen, I am more than tired enough of this "twist."
Peace.
As I thought, the art style doesn't do Iri's sexiness justice. We got a bootless shot though, so that's something.
My favourite part of the episode was hearing the Saber warcry. It's pretty aggressive, yet high pitched enough that you can imagine it coming from a small body such as hers.

Episode 10 Final - UTW
Last episode before the second season.

Hmm... I would be lying if I said I was totally satisfied with this. I'd say the fight started very promisingly by their coordinated combo, but the finish was kind of unfulfilling with summoning multiple Excaliburs and then shooting a megabeam. I suppose it was quite similar to the sort of lowkey way of Berserker perishing in the Fate route of FSN, which was vastly more anticlimactic than the insanely cruel UBW scene.
Another thing I'm not so happy with is Miyu turning so singularly possessive and hostile towards anybody but Ilya. Not being social with anybody but Ilya makes sense with her weird personality, but I think she took a too long step over the line. If it was meant to be comedy, the humour was lost on me. I guess this will have the work cut out for Ilya in the next season: to make Miyu less of a frozen douche.
Although it's not much of a point in this story, but I'd have liked to see, in a very short scene, how Shirou and Iris interact.
Well, despite all that complaining, I liked this show well enough and will most definitely watch the continuation as well.
Even if you guys were so disillusioned by the ending you didn't bother to comment on it, there are a few BD extras worth checking out:
Specials only 720p | 1080p - loligeddon
BD rip batches 720p | 1080p - loligeddon (includes also the extras plus some other stuff)
Especially the extras 3-5 were very worth watching. 1 & 2 felt like something they put quickly together to have something on the BD, but 3-5 are wholesome ministories. Shiroe gets a little screen time as well, but in a humorous manner showing how he's destined to end with the short stick in that household forever, it seems. Naturally the girls, including the maids and Iris, were the main characters.
It has been too long since I watched the show, so it's hard to say how much difference the BD rips make with the actual eps, but since they contain also UTW's untouched subs in addition to the release group's own versions, there's hardly anything to lose. At the very least they aren't mindlessly bloated encodes.
Did Brown White Chocolate make an appearance yet?
