This looks interesting, for a few reasons, but I might give it a day or a few to see if any reputable groups make a release out of it.

At the least, it was top-tier animation.

I always have trouble approaching serious romance/courtship stories, because I feel there is a fine line between poignant, and pretentious. At the risk of over-hyping what is effectively 'First World Problem: The Movie', I much enjoyed this after I let myself get into it. At 49 or so minutes, the feature doesn't wear out its welcome, as these sort of endeavors often do without mood lighteners like comedy, fanservice, or... plot.

Fair characters, great animation, story substituted by introspective. Your mileage may vary.

Also, the version linked above is perfectly watchable, with only one typo/error In the subs I could tell, but be warned that the last short scene is not subbed (after the credits), though the remaining dialogue is easy enough to infer.

I liked this quite a lot. The atmosphere was splendid throughout the whole thing, no small thanks to the great graphics with all the attention to detail. The calm direction contributed no less, of course. Characters were jolly good in their more or less broken way. Since this went for quite a realistic setting, I'm not sure if I should feel hopeful or not about the outcome. Perhaps all will be well. At least the dude managed to make quite decent looking shoes.

The dude saved the teacher in more ways than one: If she had continued on a beer & chocolate diet, it wouldn't have ended well for her...

I loved the shit out of this.

The music and visuals made a simple story something special. The subtle yet artful direction is nothing less than expected of Shinkai.

I am quite confident that it was a happy end. They were exchanging letters after the credits, and he also resolved himself to meet her again once he has grown more mature.

    Peace.
