Not caring about Gai is kind silly he is an interesting character and I'm happy when people are not related to the enemy or plot... it makes the story seem too rail roaded and more unrealistic if people repeatedly match up against there rivals for little to no reason. Of course that thing needs to exist but not every fight and every situation can be like a fate encounter. I don't like characters dying for the sake of dying. But yes Gais death would be interesting. It would give us a chance to see 8th gate. And I have always expected it to happen.
Personally I would rather see Lee use the 8th gate and die. Not that I dislike his character but not only is lee not really that hesitant at putting his life in risk if he needs to. But it's less expected and someone besides Sasuke and or Naruto need to die out of the main 9 or 12 Genins. I am going way off topic here. I will say I hope Naruto lives though this series. And Sasuke dies!
This chapter was personally a little difficult for me to follow. I had to read it twice, some of the abilities used or even who used them and how or why they were used, was a little messed up in my opinion.
P.S Kishimoto... remember that thing called Chakra limit? You don't? Go figure!
