Indeed, but I was faked out a couple of times. I think it just throws death flags all over the place so that the reader cannot guess which is true.

Peace.
Just read all 43 chapters that are currently out of this manga, and really enjoyed it. I was hoping that Tatsumi's progress would be more sword-fighting oriented rather than him getting the Incursio Teigu. On that end, I always wondered if that object he got from his village chief as he was leaving will ever be of some significance, like some sort of hidden Teigu... I know it saved him from Akame early on, but it hasn't been featured since. The chief did say to always keep it with him, so I wonder what's that all about and if it'll play a role in the future.
Big fan of Esdese, very much enjoy her dynamic with Tatsumi. I wish the story though would feature a bit more of Akame (who's the title character) and Leone... the last dozen chapters or so they seem to have been margilized getting very little screen time, and even less with Tatsumi.
I hope Mein dies soon.
This manga reminds me quite a bit of ones by Mizukami Satoshi that I've read like Sengoku Youko and Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer, both which I've thoroughly enjoyed, in particular as it regards character relationships and their deaths.
Interesting point you brought up. I thought it was broken, but there weren't any rules saying that damaged Teigu can't be used, so that's a strong possibility. Early in the story, I was also hoping that as the Night Raid members get killed off one-by-one that Tatsumi would inherit and multi-wield various Teigu, but I guess that's not happening anymore.
There's actually a prequel featuring Akame and Kurome when they were both part of the empire that you should check out; maybe it might reveal more of their dynamics in the future:Big fan of Esdese, very much enjoy her dynamic with Tatsumi. It won't, it was a one time thing for the first chapter.
There's very obvious harem elements here, plus with so much killing off of characters i'm sure they'll each have their shot at the spotlight eventually
Fuck you
I don't see that at all
Other than it being show again one or two more times in chapters after the first one, I figure as much. But I won't discount the possibility.
Oh for sure, doesn't mean that I can't lament their lack of screen time in particular since the two new members joined the group, but Leone as a whole, Tatsumi related aspects aside, seems like a fragment of what she used to be in the story... and the harem elements excuse doesn't really fly because they were there since the very beginning, but Leone was still quite prominent. It just seems like her voice within the team and story has lost some weight. It'll come back, but for now I'll just hope to see more of her. There's very obvious harem elements here, plus with so much killing off of characters i'm sure they'll each have their shot at the spotlight eventually
Ok, she still sucks.Fuck you
Too bad.I don't see that at all
So my hopes have been realized. This manga is getting a anime adaption!

It will be terrible
We can only see. Won't stop me from watching though.
New chapter is out, 45:

Do you guys think the current setup will force Esdese to switch sides, at least temporarily? The Wild Hunt seemed to have been made to be exponentially more disgusting than Esdese's group, and given their hidden agenda I think it's what we'll see.
I figuratively vomited in my mouth this chapter.
I don't see Esdese switching sides unless the prime minister decides to betray her. While her personal morals aren't as bad as the Wild Hunt, I recall an earlier chapter where she led a raid an attack on some village (possibly after attaining her Teigu?) and ordered her soldiers to rape the women and pillage the village. She doesn't care about what happens to people as long as her comrades are still alive and that she's allowed to keep on destroying everything.
Esdese's previous group was pretty sick but right now they aren't that bad. Sure they are ruthless towards their enemy but non of them were as sick as the Wild Hunt. Maybe except for one....I'm looking at you dead cyborg bitch.
I certainly don't expect a neat resolution, but I certainly don't think she'll be all that willing to side with the Wild Hunt. The dude has some axe to grind with her, and I certainly expect them to be pitted against each other.
My comment had nothing to do with how Esdese views the group or whether or not she'll respect them or not, it's all about the readership perception and the inevitability of those two groups fighting each other one way or another, and portraying that groups as it is, it'll simply make the switch, if/when it occurs, that much easier to accept and to root for Esdese.
That's how I'm viewing the setup.
But why on earth would they be fighting each other? Both groups work for the government with close ties to the Prime Minister and have a common enemy in Night Raid.
You're completely off base here, no idea where you're getting this from.
Haven't you been paying any attention to what Shura has been saying throughout all these chapters? Didn't you notice how he said that there's more playtime to be had in the capital, and that it was possible as he was raping and murdering the women all because she's away from the city?
Didn't you notice how Ran was startled/scared when he saw a clown around town?
There's a shit ton of foreshadowing going on about these two factions going after each other one way or another.
You think she'd stop them from raping and killing all the women...? If she was there she'd be encouraging them to kill them afterwards and then fuck the bodies some more.
I'll give you the clown though, there was some obvious foreshadowing there. That those 2 will bump heads however is a stretch from all out war between the two groups.
Personally don't think she would've cared, a bit fuzzy about her feelings about citizens she's supposed to protect though. But, I'm pretty sure about the dilemma the story is trying to present irrespective of how she would feel about Shura's rape/murder spree. Which is, lay grounds for animosity between the two groups (which have been going for a few chapters now) and present Shura's group as the "more evil" alternative to the readers.
I don't think it's much of a stretch though because Shura clearly has some hidden agenda that is clearly not inline with the Emperor's or with Esdese's interest, and that's what I'm mostly banking on.
Chapter 49 [Batoto]
----
That was too short.
I actually clicked the back button because I thought I skipped some pages.
Twin tails is going to die soon huh.
MC not being with Akame is weird, because the story does not focus on her much.
Peace.
