Destroying 5/6th of the world seems like a pretty bad idea for a guy who relies on the internet to exist.

That was kind of the point of that scene wasn't it? It might even have been the most important scene that episode.

Airi asked him why he is doing all this, and he replied "because I want to complete the experiment." So she asked him why he wanted to do that, and he paused, confused for a split second, then chuckled as if it was obvious and said, "because I want to complete the experiment."

He has less free will than Misaki, even less free will than Sister Centipede, who displayed emergent behavior at the end. He's a ghost, maybe not even that. He's just an out of control Do-While loop.

He can't really think for himself, he can just complete his ordained task. He's forced to.

Overall, I felt like this show wasted a lot of potential. There were just so many problems, plot holes, and unexplained things.

The protagonist is so unlikable for the majority of the show, not wanting to do anything but play Kill-Balad.
The master plan for the villain doesn't make sense.
They never actually show the robot club building the robot. They just suddenly finish it one day for the first one, and then for the others it seems like JAXA basically comes in and builds it for them.
Monopoles falling from the sky? So random... And they just leave the monopoles out in a field for a few episodes. It is like the scientific discovery of the century and they don't tell anyone.
The Kimijima reports? They appeared to basically serve no purpose and were just an excuse for the protagonist to go around wasting time. Please don't tell me the master plan actually required someone to go solve the puzzles.
Missiles that use AR for guidance?!?!? That makes no sense and was really stupid. I would want my missiles to hit REAL things.
How is Kimijima supposed to be controlling Aki's sister? Mind control through the internet? The power suit makes sense, but the brainwashing, not so much.
We deleted Kimijima from the internet so now our rocket control panel is completely unlocked, hurray!

At least Kai deleted Kill-Ballad after he finally realized that giant robots are awesome.

I had high hopes for this show after Steins;Gate, but it really didn't stand up nearly as well. The characters just don't hold a candle to the Steins;gate cast (Kai vs. Hououin Kyouma, really?) and the plot seemed poorly written in comparison.

Still better than some of the stuff this season, but I just wanted it to be much better.

Too much bs-anime drama at the end :/

Aki driving her scooter towards the killer robot, making her sister regain consciousness. ugh

As I wrote in my previous posting, they was no proper build-up for all this We´re being shown a world where robots are slow, bulky, functional. And then it ends with a full-on mecha-action-anime robot, who´s transforming from the defeated outer shell. lol

I dont want to write more, so ill leave it at that.
Just one more thing: The best part of this anime were Misa-neechan´s boobs. Kai, you chose wrong.

The first 2/3rds of this anime were so good. The last 3rd not so much.

The only lingering issue that bothers me is the unknown fate of Kona's mother.

I still enjoyed the hell out of it. Aki and Kona were great characters, even though I hated the latter at first.

The thing about Kai being a total asshole at first is alleviated by the fact that he does one thing without fail: protect's Aki's happiness. He's loved her since they were kids, and protects her at all costs when it counts. Most of his actions were to keep her from ever getting upset or sad. He was hopelessly devoted to Aki and Aki alone. He might try to play being aloof from time to time, but Aki's happiness always came first.

Helping out Kona was just a side-thing. Still, I doubt she'd be that upset being relegated to his mistress. Aki probably would object though, so Kai would follow her lead as always.
