I think there should be a difference between friendzoning and what happened here. A typical friendzone, to me, starts with only one goal in the guy´s mind: "I want to get her, but I´m not sure how." Now, from what we saw so far, Sinon´s friend isn´t like that. He cared about her for an extended time, always being there for her, knowing about her dilemma and all. ALSO, judging from her reaction, she knows about her friend´s desires. She wasn´t acting as if this was the first time he approached her romantically, saying "I´m not ready yet" with a little blush on her cheeks.

There should be a difference because she didn't have the courage to turn him down firmly, even though that's what she really wanted to do. Maybe she even feels like she owes something to him but doesn't realise that leaving him hanging is more cruel, and naturally even more cruel would be to date him for a while and then leave him. Judging by her reaction, this indeed was the first time he confessed. I reckon she has never had a boyfriend and thus simply any guy confessing to her made her blush, even if it was this sycophant. It doesn't really mean anything here. At least she wasn't dense enough not to have guessed what the dude had wanted all along, yet had been too beta to do anything about it, like exglitch said.

In the end it's the dude that friendzoned himself a long time ago. Sinon didn't need to do anything.

this weeks ep was extraordinarily boring, I didn't mind the part about Sinon and her friend, but pretty much everything else was so hard to endure and felt forced. The author tries so hard to make Kirito look like an antihero, but everyone knows that he will end up looking like mfing Jesus one episode later.

unless you can create multiple characters with 1 account in 1 game. Which I assumed isn't possible because the whole GGO community (or just Death Gun?) was so "mad" about the metachange (or whatever that section during the interview was about)

Mad that PvP strategies evolved? GGO doesn't appear to have GMs hitting things with nerfbats, so evolutions in strategy or minmaxing appear entirely up to the player base.

Unless Deathgun was angry about what is the equivalent to following a prominent player's advice on forums, before they changed their mind based on new strategies.

I legitimately can't find a reason Laughing Coffin would want to kill the guy that isn't just a petty tantrum. The fact that they're Laughing Coffin remnants is the only thing that makes sense, they like killing because they are griefing psychopaths.

Why would Death Gun give a damn about PvP strategies? It seems far more likely Death Gun (Laughing Coffin) would, should he even need any reason, slay people who think they are tough and wise in a non-lethal game. That is, people who rise high in the tournament, since that's what he's actually doing by the looks of it. Laughing Coffin's core members seemed to be psychopaths, but I reckon they appreciated the fact they could die as well, not only the victims. Ready to kill and ready to die. Of course with Kirito Death Gun wouldn't need such a reason. He would just want to deal with unfinished business.

That´s why I´m still not convinced that we can confirm her not being death gun. "Well, I used a virtual hologram" or some bs.

Her? You mean Sinon? I don't think there's any chance of that for a multitude of reasons. While I did, like everybody, consider the dude a likely candidate at some point, it's kind of hard to imagine it, really, after we have seen the bunch of scenes from him. His main interest seems to be Sinon, most likely both outside and inside the game. I'm quite sure Death Gun's main interest is being Death Gun. He would practically need to have a clinically split personality to be Death Gun in addition to the desperate wooer we have been seeing. It would be a different thing if Death Gun killed everybody who had tried to approach Sinon or Sinon had shown any interest in, but DG seems to have his own, totally separate goals.

I reckon Death Gun could potentially be an AI aberration, like Yui, but with less independence. A whole team of Laughing Coffins could then use the character, overriding any autonomous functionality, and do they fell deeds. (Though I guess one at a time, not Twitch plays Death Gun style.) That might explain why he can do what he can and would also mean it's no single human always visiting the game with the same avatar like any other player.

Regarding DG, they can think of any cheesy idea they want.
DG is very different from all the characters we've seen so far. He's some kind of T-800 with very basic speech capability.
I would not be surprised if they told us it's a bot controlled avatar, said bot being programmed by anyone.
Also, they told us the servers and the company running GGO are in the US and they know next to nothing about the real possibilities offered in that virtual world. It might be that the one brain/one avatar rule is untrue even without hacking. Hacking being the last easy cheesy solution, like they did when Kirito opened a console in game...

Just wanted tosay: SAO: Follow Fragment was released today. Spend some hours playing. If you took away the SAO-theme, it probaby wouldn´t be much more than a somewhat quality, but generic mmo-style rpg. HOWEVER (capital letters), combined with SAO-theme, its characters and story, it makes a hella lot fun. It simply fits so well. Also, graphics seem to run natively on the Vita-display (something unfortunately not so common), very fluid with some exceptions, and it feels great running around in a semi-big 3d-world.

Of course, I´m also looking forward to banning Leafa, and I have no idea how the game will explain this happening lol. There´s apparently even an achievement for "conquering" all of the girls. Note: You´re married to Asuna storywise nonetheless

But anyway, this only from a couple of hours. Supposedly a 70-100+ hour game, so I´m sure combat will become more interesting. And I´m very curious about the new story, where Kirito and co. have to climb the last 25 levels, since they weren´t freed after defeating Heathcliff on level 75. If you have a Vita, this is pretty much a must-have for every SAO-fan.

Good episode. Some nitpicks about incoherent logic here and there, but enjoyable to watch overall.

I wonder how Kirito plans to find out about Death Gun´s ability. If he has Sinon save Pale Rider, then there won´t be any progress. Even if Death Gun killed Pale Rider, Kirito wouldn´t know Pale Rider´s real identity.

Also, was Kirito really swimming naked? I mean ... he might have been invisible to the radar, but non-participants can stil watch every player, eh? :/

I've been playing Hollow Fragment, too. It is fun, but the translation... oh my goodness... It is so bad. The main story translation is at least understandable, but the skill/item names and the side conversations are just horrible.
