I guess they had to give Hody's lieutenants some screentime to make them believable opponents once Straw hats get down to business. Although they still don't look too tough compared to the powered-up Straw hats - unless they all pop a handful of pills like Hody did.

But on the other hand, the retarded show-off between Jinbei and Luffy is still going on, so the lieutenants don't actually need to do shit, unless by some miracle a literal bonehead like Brook manages to get Zoro a sword and the rest of them feel like fighting the rebels while Luffy continues to fight Jinber needlessly.

I'm assuming none of the Lt.s will be threats at the start of their fights, then they'll all take a bunch of steroid and the fights will be closer.

Hordy seems...pretty dumb.

It's an energy steroid, not a senzu bean. It's not going to heal his wound. And now, he looks like an old man. He's probably going to have a heart attack mid-fight with Luffy.
