The single most interesting thing in this episode is that Jinbei's invitation to become a Shichubuki was delivered by a bat.
Which is also how Buggy's letter from the WG was delivered...
Arlong sure got stronger after this event. He got his ass kicked miserably and not only once but twice in this episode.
To be fair, the people he was fighting are way stronger than Luffy was when he defeated Arlong.
Indeed they were, but it looked like Arlong wasn't even trying - he was that bad against anybody but nameless rank and file. However, back on Nami's island, he was clearly above the rest of his crew. I'm not saying he would have been absolutely very high on the One Piece power scale, but he was better than this.
Shouldn't he BE better on Nami's Island? I mean, this flashback takes place over a decade before the Arlong Park arc. Shouldn't him having been weaker a full ten years earlier been expected?
Arlong also had a measly $20M bounty as of just 2-3 years ago compared to Jimbei's $250M bounty over 10 years ago

Those 720p Yibis subs sometimes lag for me, especially in the opening, even though i use a quite new technically up-to-date labtop.
This never happened with facepalm or NoGrp. Note to fansubbers: when the good looks of your sub are diminished by lags, you are doing it wrong, take a note of other groups who got 720p and no lags.

Both Yibis and Yonkou can lag badly for me depending on the renderer I use. LAV was no good, at least, though that might have changed with newer versions. MadVR plays them perfectly. I don't exactly know what's causing this, but maybe it's some VFR setting in their encoding, or something similar.
You might want to have a look at your software and settings if you indeed do have a powerful enough computer otherwise.
I have massive lag with those 720p versions also.
I really don't mind it if people post the Horriblesubs funimation rip. I know it's only 360p. But it's fast and at least it runs smoothly.
I use the windows media player classic from the CCCP. You'd hope that this program plays all anime fansubs equally good, at least I thought that is what it was arranged for. In the two last Yibis eps I had massive lags in the openings and in 543 small ones after the advertisement break, in 544 also massive ones in the action sequence in which Kizaru lasers Arlong. Otherwise the eps where fine. It's strange how it lags at specific points. I don't personally think that action sequences like in the opening should demand that much more computing power like the lags seem to suggest, when the characters interact slower the framerate should be still the same and there is still sound. Whatever.
I might try some of the other programs, but it's probably less of a hussle to just take Horrible subs or CSS (btw both out now for 545)
