Niko's damn cute when she's speaking vulgarly and laughing psychotically.
Evil twintails ftw.
If Niko's long range supremacy is combined with Kuroyuki's close range dominance, they would make an unbeatable combo. If only they didn't sorta hate each other.
So i guess we're disregarding the life bar and just handing the victory to whoever strikes the killing blow first. A little annoying how Silver Crow got electrocuted for like 10 minutes and didn't disappear, especially since electric attacks are supposed to be super effective against him.
Oh and why the fuck are they referring to each other in their real names? If i was the enemy i'd be looking for a underclassman named haruyuki the moment i logged off.
Yeah, it seems really, really stupid. Especially if they're going around killing off the kings and "ruining" their lives forever. If someone is that addicted to it, they might be tempted to seek revenge in the real world.
I wonder if Red Rider is now happily working a job or something, leaving it behind as a happy memory. It would be really pathetic if he turned into a wallows-in-his-own-filth hikikomori or committed suicide over a game.
While they said it is addicting, it's also just escapism.
Kuroyuki's so paranoid about it that she actually hacks her official identification card so it doesn't display her real name (but that's partly for the running gag of the readers/audience not knowing her name too).
Just nitpicking here but shouldn't Black Lotus have filled her gauge way before Yellow Radio did? I mean she did beat a bunch of cannon fodder before facing of with Yellow Radio. Unless it only fills when you get hit which doesn't make sense either as it looks like only Black Lotus got a hit in or if Yellow didn't spend all of his gauge on that merry go round thing.
You are here alone again
In your sweet insanity
All too calm, you hide yourself from reality
Do you call it solitude? Do you call it liberty?
When all the world turns away to leave you lonely
Going along with all of that, I'd say it builds when you get hit or if you blocked/clashed.
It would seem stupid if you thought about it from the game's perspective, but I'd say it works for the audience because it sounds more "right" by ear, given their closeness to each other and all. I suppose we could say that they're communicating via secure channels, but that's just digging up random possibilities.Originally Posted by Ryll
I'm not so amused that Yellow Radio can take on Kuroyuki in close combat when she's specifically a melee type. Illusive types are generally supposed to rely on their ability when pushed against someone of similar overall strength, not just have it as an extra on top of uber CQC abilities. Something like a shadow-double, for example. He's got the speed if we put in "sleight of hand", but to go against blades that cut on contact kinda ruins the point of them.
But who cares. He's dead now anyway. Karma fuck yeah!
(PS: so if you die here you're gone for good? No graveyard respawn? Kinda sucks for Taku.. not to mention that it'll mean Harayuki becomes Chiyu's Parent.)

No they left behind a little beacon if they die in here. So they can be resurrected I think. Or you have to walk back to your corpse in ghost form or something.
Right. All the talk about lvl9s made me forget that it was they who had the "all or nothing" rule when they fought other lvl9s. I suppose the amount of points you get for slamming someone in that world is the same as beating them in a normal fight then.
If a king only loses their points when they're killed by another lvl9 only, then Yellow Radio won't be gone for good here since the berserk guy stole the kill.

Yeah but technically the Calamity Armor IS a player. Just overwritten by that bug. So not sure it still counts.
I'd actually say he doesn't count (which means that a lvl9 will only lose all their points if they lost to another lvl9, not to some random player). Reason behind that is that it otherwise means a lvl9 should only fight against people who they know they can beat because they risk losing everything, while a lvl8 would be able to challenge them over and over again as long as they have enough points to buffer their losses with.
It would be a really unbalanced system, and the only way it could work with the current standings is if the current kings are unbelievably strong.
I can see Kuroyuki doing a Death by Kissing move on Haru. :3

They get more stat/ability points than you're thinking. It's pretty easy when you look at the level 9s we know about.
Take Scarlet Rain. They told us that she put all of her points into long-range offense. But if that were the case, she wouldn't have the immobile fortress. She'd just be the little robot with a comically overpowered hand-pistol. S.R. put all her points into Ranged Offense and Defense (est. 70% and 30%). No points at all in Agility. That way, she absorbs long range damage and has all sorts of countermeasures while she fires her super-powered beams and rockets, but can't move much, and could easily be chased down.
Then look at Black Lotus. She put all her points into two stats as well, Melee Offense and Agility (est. 50% and 50% or maybe even 40%/60%). She's extremely fast, but appears to lack any ranged abilities (her huge beam blades are still melee), and has few special abilities that aren't offensive. She probably can't take too many direct hits, but that's clearly not a problem because she cuts things even when she parries.
So Yellow Radio probably put his in a mix. Illusion special abilities, Agility, and Melee offense (est. 50%, 25% and 25%). His defenses are obviously weak.
Cyan Pile mixes his too, with a emphasis on Defense, Melee Offense, and a few Defensive special abilities, presumably in line with the Blue clan's style. His Agility isn't there, but it isn't neglected like S.R.'s.
Haruyuki honestly hasn't been doing much these episodes in terms of combat, but I'd guess he's got a strong focus on Agility and Melee Offense, in line with his Empress.
So you reckon Yellow Radio's Melee offense is enough such that he can his batton against Lotus without breaking it? Because that's where I was getting at.Originally Posted by Ryll

Maybe they put in similar points in damage and agility. The illusion is a special move, much like flying is a special move, and both don't rely on stat points.
Peace.
Haruyuki put all points into flying, i think, as a special ability - speed of flight and mid-air control should improve with each rank - and we already know that physics matter in this game.. so by increasing speed he is increasing the force of his air attacks, and control allows him to track targets efficiently(and probably use those two attributes even in close range combat).
That electrical attacks was more of paralysis than damaging type i think - attacks like this immobilize opponent so your partner can finish him off. Otherwise it would be useless - why paralyze your opponent when you could finish him off with insta-shock?

I agree that it was more of a stun-gun type electric attack. High voltage, low amperage, low-med energy (joules).
The other girl he fought paired with the sand-blaster dude in the two-on-two match had more of a damage-type electric attack (moderate voltage, high amperage, med-high energy).
Started watching this last night, I'm about 9 episodes it. Been fun so far, enjoying it quite a bit. I wish they would be more consistent with how battles are handled (attack power, damage, etc.) and a bit more consistent with security concerns and the actions they take for their safety, among a few other issues.
Still a fun watch so far.
You're such a shounen fag Munsu.
Heads up, keep an eye out for Sword Art Online since it has the same setting and is apparently also action packed.
We got boners for it because we watched this. Full circle?
