Hmm... well it's cool and all, but now Natsu can devour all magic types? I guess it's less strange than Lisanna catching lightning and explosions with her wings before propelling them forward.

I don't think he devoured it. More like it was given to him. Maybe it has something to do with Laxus also being a dragon slayer. A fake one but perhaps the magic is kind of similar.
This would have been way cooler if the intro hadn't spoiled the crap out of it.
Anyway, isn't he basically just doing the same thing with Laxus' lightning that he did with Zancrow's black flames? Creating a new vessel that can hold the new energy?

2) We've entirely dropped the "flame" concept now. Natsu could eat flames because he was a fire dragon slayer - he wasn't just any energy vacuum due to being a dragon slayer.
The last time I remember Natsu eating other forms of energy somewhat successfully was Etherion/tower. Can't exactly remember what that was all about, but I think the end message was you can't go around eating shit, lol.
As for the comment about Laxus "giving" him magica... /me shrugs.

The Eltherion lacrima contained all four elements in it. So he ate it, used the fire element in it, then the rest just made him sick afterwards.
Shouldn't this obviously be taken as a message that the old concept of Natsu (and other dragon slayers, perhaps) being married to a single element is somewhat erroneous?
