Even without the coach saying so, I had already decided this episode that I'll treat Suguru as the split-personality of Kakeru instead of some organ-possession phenomenon (pretty much like a certain character from Gundam 00).
That makes things easier to bear since I think of both sides as still being Kakeru...
The problem then, is the cringe I get when Leo orgasms every moment Suguru does something. That's pretty creepy.

Ugh, this is sooo bad. I really cannot understand how the author of this story thought it to be a good idea to make the protagonist´s success wholly dependent on some inner possessing, be it schizophrenic behavior or an actual spirit/ghost haunting him. This anime presents the simplest football-shounen clichees and cannot even get that right.
Would have made for a more interesting story had Kakeru died and we´d follow Suguru´s career, who´s haunted by some kind of guilt over his dead little brother. At least we wouldn´t have to question his abilities in football...
Suguru's the wall-hack, the aimbot, the unlimited-sprint. The show goes to great lengths to tell us that despite Suguru's talent, there's still one thing that Kakeru can do well (and better than his brother), and that's being a striker and looking/predicting opportunities.
But really, if you're as good as Suguru, there's no way you can't read the game if you can read every player. Suguru's every bit as good as Kakeru. And then some.
And that's annoying that our main char is forever 2nd-rated by a dead character.
Please make the next episode be another beach training session with Seven fanservice or something.

I wanted to see Mai chest that ball some more

Right at the beginning of the episode I began to wonder at what became of the sneaky photographer. He was taking pictures of Nana and Kakeru, right?
The dude that Mai freaked out about had a newspaper in his back pocket... but it might not actually be related..

Ahhhh.
It makes sense that all of Kakeru's "Suguru play" is now sought after by the national team. A change of regular cast is nice since I've just about had my fill of all the regular players - and after seeing the South Americans in action I want to see a more star-studded team.

worst filler ever.
watch this with empty stomach or you'll regret it...
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Caught up.
I dunno ... this anime feels like even the producers themselves want to get it over with. So rushed. Like they watched other sports-anime and are just checking the list. "hero attending a special training with all the star players from other teams? Check!"
Oh, and since there have been so many terrible filler-ish episodes teasing it: This anime is REALLY bad with romance stuff. Seriously, I´m so bored by everything Mai does, because the nature of this show simply does not allow for her and Kakeru to become a couple. Everything is so static, clichee, typical, that anything but Kakeru+Seven would be the most shocking twist ever since Tobi being Obito. It´s just not happening. So, stop teasing the audience, we´re not that dumb.
