I guess it's really a setting preference/joy because when out of context, that music is fairly poor. The melody is 4 notes maybe, with a bass line and probably other elements I can't remember after listening it once.
That music alone feels useless to me. But it works well with the scene and anime.
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
I think the mix for the anime sounded better simply because the melody guitar isn't there.
I had trouble identifying the song at first since it sounded so different.

I prefer the song from Gon Vs. Hisoka in the tower from the old anime...

Thanks this is basically what I was asking for, I definitely prefer sticking with one group's subs cause batches that cycle through groups really throw me off when the quality changes randomly
Deadfish is no group. It's just some dude who reencodes and remuxes releases by HS and the few remaining fansubbers.
That's right, Deadfish isn't a group, and they re-encode.
I love them from a compatibility perspective because whenever I get them, I can be assured they're H.264 8bit mp4 releases that will work on everything.

Neither are very good, by my standards, but the second one is better than the first.
Utter trash. This movie represented everything HxH was trying to overturn: nonsensical powerups, erased consequences, surprise morality.

Yeah, 2nd movie sucks :/ First one is better if you can ignore the non-canon/can discrepancies.
2nd movie was way too generic :/ The villains sucked so hard. Could have been from Naruto. The way On was defined was shit. Meh.
