The most dramatic episode so far.
And he died regardless xD
He lives!
Grail-kun is giving me the creeps, always. It is one of most scary and disturbing characters I've ever seen.
Btw - finally ep centered on my favorite Servant.

And up until then he's just been doing Doraemon parodys too. I actually found him rather cute when he does those (until this episode, or when he suggested dark actions in the previous parodies).Originally Posted by Xel

Prototype looked great actually. Didn't think what to expect from it. So is it like...the original idea of the Holy Grail war?
Well, that ultimate date plan went as one would expect in Carnival Phantasm...
A great show. Too bad it's over. Too bad it didn't have Fate/Zero included (any more than this).
I was more impressed by how many things stayed the same from Prototype to F/SN, despite genderswaps, completely different characters, utterly different appearances. A surprising number of plot points remained completely unchanged, others just swapped one Servant for another, one master for another.
edit:
Regarding the Super Date, at first I thought there was an animation error, since Sakura kept appearing in the background or side of the other two dates. Then I realized that it was in fact, perfectly in character for her. Sakura, knowing far more about everything going on than she should (this time knowing about the other two dates going on), slinking around deceptively, keeping an eye on Shirou, just waiting for her time to strike ("Senpai! Where have you been?").
♥ Sakura ♥

No idea who that was at the phone at the end but...I hope for season 4. With more Zero chars. But hey...maybe after the second season of Fate/Zero is over....
It was Sajou Ayaka. Protagonist of Fate Prototype, voiced by Hanazawa Kana. The two episodes are bundled together.
Anyone know who the angel on top of the temple outside of the cafe is? I recognized nearly every other character in that last piece from either FSN, Ataraxia, F/Z, Kara no Kyoukai, Tsukihime, or Melty Blood.
It's V/V, the humanoid form of Type Venus from Notes.
Ryll - add Kagetsu Tohya to that list too - i bet that you recognized Ren and Len too.(btw - that VN - Kagetsu - is unplayable without flowchart, ask me on irc if you want to know why)
And for Fate Prototype - I've read quite a lot about it but damn, after seeing this short preview i want it to get full anime adaptation and/or VN - it would be very interesting - because it is in same relation to Fate/Stay Night as Kara no Kyoukai is to Tsukihime.

Eh? Kara no Kyoukai character(s) are alluded to in Fate/Stay Night, entire organizations are the same (Mage Association most notably), and the same KnK characters are occasionally referenced to in Tsukihime (Touko).
How is that the same relation if they are all in the same universe, while Prototype isn't?
Kara no Kyoukai was a prototype of Tsukihime - according to Nasu if i remember correctly - he first wrote few chapters on KnK and after a while he started working on Tsuki, he finished KnK and then Tsuki if i recall correctly.
There aren't that much similarities between those two(aozaki mage gives glasses, mystic eyes of death perception, inner murder instinct/impulse(native to Nanaya clan), and fighting supernatural beings) as in fate/stay night <=> fate prototype though.

I really liked that Prototype seemed to give more importance to collecting Command Seals. If the "degrees" translate to power scales, then collecting command seals didn't just mean being able to make your servant do one more thing (since it kind of means you and your servant didn't get along that well in the first place if you needed to use it), but it actually makes you into a stronger master.
It turns the grail war from a survival game into a hunting game.

Whatever else may be said about Shirou, at least he wasn't ever a coward or an emo. In that sense I'm happier with FSN as it was. It seems to me like some superficial elements of Prototype's main character was used in Rin, though, even if the personality was completely changed.
Oh wow... prototype looked fucking awesome. I wonder what would be the chances of it ever getting a proper adaptation.
I could see it falling into a trap of being dark but dull because of the main chars. It's not an infallable piece of work nor a prototype for nothing..
