Raleigh....so goddamn badass....fucking swam.
Hancock is really starting to become unstable...talking to her thumbs...
Who better to train you than the damn right hand of the pirate king! Rayleigh is the shit.

I was slightly disappointed with his reintroduction here in the anime, in the manga they showed a body shot of him that made him look like a complete BEAST of a man, and yet in the anime he still kinda just looks like a muscley granpa :P
Are the anime viewers already aware of that one thing that's to happen soon and will make everything exponentially more awesome? I'm just wondering since the manga readers already knew by this point.
Well, Raleigh is saying Luffy shouldn't go back because he's not strong enough.
So the obvious thing would be that Raleigh is going to train him to use his Haki.
I'm also nebulously aware that there is a time skip coming up pretty soon.
I wasn't aware of that at all... did i just get spoiled, like, big time?

While I haven't read the manga further than Enies Lobby, I have seen enough fan art to have deduced long ago that particular thing. Assuming it was what DE said.
thats strange because physically they dont change like say, they did in naruto or in DBZ. after it happens you should post some of this art if its any good. Also the manga fans were made aware of this long before this arc due to a a QnA with the author i believe. and its not really a spoiler imho its more the event that leads up to the timeskip, which i hope to god they devote more time to than the mangas measily few shots.
Pretty much this. Sometimes you can't help but learn things just from being around the internet. Even if you try and avoid manga discussion.
For example, I knew about Usopp's Sogeking persona and his new slingstaff weapon long before he appeared in the manga because someone used him in their signature on a Street Fighter message board I frequent.
Well i didn't know a time skip was coming at all :/
I guess i just have another thing to look forward to.

Yea like Archy said, this was discussed in the manga section all the way back to when Ace died. Thats when the idea of an timeskip started to be speculated on. And once Luffy came to Amazon Lily and Rayleigh came and said he would train him everyone was 99% sure of it. Only reason it hasn't been discussed here is probably because most of the people in here are manga readers and they don't wanna make it seem like they spoil. One of the sad things is that things don't get discussed enough and not many predictions is thrown out there in the anime forum.
Hmm, I thought I mentioned something about it back when Luffy was sent to Amazon Lily. Only made sense since he's getting dangerously close to having to face many of the strongest OP characters, and nothing short of a time skip could justify him standing a chance.
Anyway, I dunno why you guys had to bring it up, and not just sit back and let the anime kids discuss it themselves.

Well, if this thread is any indication, me and Penner are like the only anime-only watchers left.
I'm still here! I made the mistake of reading the Manga when Naruto was still new and it ruined my whole anime watching experience until about ep 81. I can understand if the material read is years apart and later becomes animated, which allows your mind to not have everything so fresh.
I had no clue a time jump would be happening, but it does make sense. Beyond the time jump I'm still clueless so I'd like to keep it that way.

I actively avoid all fanart for pretty much all the shows i watch so i won't get spoiled, unless it's spoiler-free art :P

Yeah... fanart spoiled the big surprise of Nico Robin joining the crew back in the Alabasta arc for me.
Or maybe that was Joker-kun's fault... I can't remember.
