Being a big fan of CLAMP's designs (Code Geass characters, xxxHolic, Tsubasa Chronicle, Card Captor Sakura, etc.) and the original Blood franchise (not so much Blood+ though...) I was looking forward to this re-imagining. Blood has some good foundations behind it, and CLAMP has been really good at producing the kind of series this fits well with. xxxHolic is particular, which designs this seem to match the most.
So Saya becoming a meganekko, growing giant fluffy pigtails and having a fluttery skirt = mega-win for me.
As for the episode itself, I can't say I was surprised at all to see Saya singing a song on her way to school given that she's voiced by Mizuki Nana (Fate from Nanoha, Sylvette from Letter Bee, Hinata from Naruto). What did surprise me was how long that scene went on. As much as I like her singing (and she indeed sings the ED), I'm not sure if I want to see that kind of thing throughout the series unless they're going to make it a major part of the plot.
The two twins being voiced by the same actress is always a nice touch. That was another plus for me.
Not too much else happened in the first episode. It was very much introductory. Good fight animation, fun to watch, decent amount of humor, and shaping up to be very CLAMP (cafe for no apparent reason, amusingly impractical uniforms, ridiculous hair, twins for no apparent reason, etc.). I want more, as soon as possible.
But the OP...not the song so much, but the animation. It oozes sexiness.
