    I was under the impression you had to take the eyes of your sibling in order to make the MS eternal. Kind of like blood type.

    Your siblings were most likely compatible with your own, and merging with someone elses eyes may have unforseen consequences.

    Although that is only my theory at this point and nothing in the anime suggests this.
