Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. Or rather already got. You can tell it's interesting stuff that's trying to go on, because this is essentially right at the core of the story, but that only makes it more frustrating and strange it's being slaughtered by all the flashbacks. The director must have skipped a few courses too many when he studied the art. Either that or he has zero pride and it's the producers that told him to ruin his own efforts.
