ASUS VE228H vs. VH222H-P Monitor

I don't know shit about monitors, but these two seemed to me to be the best I saw for the price.

And since I don't know shit about monitors, I don't know which of the two to choose from particularly since they're at the same price:

So, which one would you pick? Or if you know of any other monitor with 1080p and HDMI at a good price let me know (consider that I get free-shipping in these monitors from NewEgg).

Of those two I'd get the latter (Asus VE228H) because it's a LED backlight model. Although I wouldn't buy a screen unless I had read a decent review or two of it and then checked customer feedback/forum posts complaining about any possible problems.

Other than that, I'd personally get a bigger screen. In my opinion 23.5-24" is the way to go these days. They don't cost that much more anymore.

This is just a monitor to have at the office. I was thinking of the VE228H myself, but knowing how laptop monitors often need to get their backlights replaced, will these type of monitors suffer from the same?

As for reviews, newegg customer reviews seem very positive on both.

The leds themselves would make the screen last practically forever. If the monitor breaks, it's likely due to capacitors going bad in the power supply or some flawed component anywhere. Leds eat a lot less power than CCFL, which might be easier for the power supply, though, extending the lifespan, but it's not like CCFL screens would be made to break soon either. A led screen will also turn on faster. They weigh a bit less as well. They are the future, until LCD technology itself is replaced. CCFL is the past.

I second the LED suggestion. I got the first iMac with LED backlit screens in 2007, and it's still just as bright. A compact fluorescent would have dimmed by now.
