Hey guys, here's an official statement on the online issues that many of you have been experiencing over the past week:
Thank you for supporting Mortal Kombat! Due to the overwhelmingly positive reception to the game, Mortal Kombat has millions of online matches being initiated worldwide every day, and we have run into some unanticipated technical issues.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios are aware of the issues with the online gameplay – specifically with "King of the Hill" and Ranked 1 v. 1 matches - and we want to assure our fans that we are focused on resolving online issues ASAP.
We have added a “Technical Issues” section to our forum so please be sure to let us know what issues you are having so we can address those as soon as possible. Users will begin seeing improvements in online play over the course of the next two weeks. In the meantime please note that none of this will impact the single-player or offline multiplayer experience, and we greatly appreciate your patience!
So one fanbase can't use online... and the other fanbase is having technical problems? Damn...
Yeah, and 360 has another problem. The balance updates aren't being saved for offline play.
"As you may know, one of the most promoted features of MK9 was the balancing on the fly, without patches. For the most part, this has worked, as there have been changes in the past few days such as infinite removal and some move property changes.
However, there is one kink in this, and it's not exactly a tiny one. The updates DO NOT save to your hard drive. When you are disconnected from XBL, the updates do not take effect at all. They are all just stored online. This is a problem for when these updates bring in important changes."
So, as you can probably see, any tournament running Mortal Kombat on Xbox 360 would need all of the console connected to Xbox Live in order to make sure that they are playing the current version of the game. The video below talks more about the issue.
That's an absurd flaw. I hope they manage to fix it. I fear that may be present on the PS3 as well... but with the current issue with PSN we can't be sure. I hope they are working on fixing them as soon as possible.
Apparently, it's not a problem on PS3.
On the PS3 there is a save file for non-patch updates. First back-up this save file, then delete it. Now try one of the infinites that were patched out of the game, Sindel's infinite for example (it will work). Then restore the save file and try the same infinite. Now it will not work. It does not matter if you are connected to PSN or not.
360 does not have a save file for non-patch updates. That's why it is a 360 only issue.
Ah. Thanks for the update. Even though the PSN is down... it did prompt me to update upon booting Mortal Kombat the first time. It must have been this.
MK3 Cyrax and Sektor
Here's some more leaked footage
Skarlet's X-Ray Move
Skarlet's Babality
Skarlet's Fatality
Fujin???
How did they get this anyway? Was this hacked or what? Scarlet seems to be a work in progress... while Fujin is... huh?

Someone told me that it was leaked from PartnerNet.
I already have Ultimate MK3 on Live Arcade. I'm still looking forward to MK2 though and 800 points isn't a bad price for all three.Originally Posted by Press Release
Edit:Before Warner Bros. acquired Midway, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was available on Xbox Live Arcade. Sony Online Entertainment in cooperation with Midway brought Mortal Kombat 2 to PlayStation Network. Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection has its own set of leaderboards, achievements, and trophies.
Players who purchased a new, sealed copy of Mortal Kombat 9 received a Kombat Pass. This one-time pass activated their game for online play, and is generally a countermeasure against piracy and the used games business for WB Studios and NetherRealm. Players who purchase the game used have the options of buying a new Kombat pass through Xbox Live or Playstation network, but with PSN's store still down, this became impossible. To make matters worse, players who did not redeem their code before the Playstation network went down were unable to do so.
To temporarily solve the issue, Playstation 3 users are allowed to play MK's online modes without a Kombat pass. This free period will last until the PSN Store returns. If you've been itching to try it out but hadn't used your Kombat code for whatever reason, now is your chance.
Now they tell me.... I'll try tomorrow then. Thanks Marik.
Booting up the game while logged into Xbox Live or PSN will get the latest hotfixes automatically if you do not already have them.
You can check your game's version number by going to the options screen and holding down the RB & RT buttons and hitting the Y button (on Xbox360) or holding down the R1 & R2 buttons and hitting the Triangle Button (on PS3).

NetherRealm Studios head and Mortal Kombat ko-kreator Ed Boon has revealed via his Twitter feed that all of the retailer-specific pre-order DLC released for the series' ninth installment will soon be made available as one downloadable, for-pay kollection.
For those who haven't been keeping tabs on said content, it includes "classic" variants of Ermac, Jade, Kitana, Mileena, Reptile, Scorpion and Sub-Zero, along with additional fatalities for Reptile, Scorpion and Sub-Zero.Originally Posted by noobde

there is someone who paid 100$ for a reptile skin rofl....I should've sold my ermac skin...perhaps I still can >_>

I wonder if its too late to sell my un-used SubZero
Any word on how much this pack would cost?
EDIT:
I laughed that darkshadow and I posted at the same time with basically the same post... he wondering about selling Ermac and me SubZero
haha :P, money generates similar thoughts it seems ;D

Only because its a bother to sell through Ebay... but we could probably get enough money from Ermac/SubZero to pay for the full 'kollection' pack. I just hope they don't charge more than 10 for the full set (because I only have 12 on the account... if it was stolen by the anonymus lamers)
