Not really, i expected much more drama... :/
I don't think Luffy possesses the mental capacity to react with drama beyond screaming and smashing things.
But still they could make it much better, after all its Ace! we are talking about, and what adds even more drama and sadness is that he sacraficed himself to save luffy's life... Anyway, it is what it is, nothing we can change about it.
Yeah, the episode did kind of end mid-breakdown. Who knows what else Luffy will do.
Maybe it's because I'm bored with Ace's death drama already but I felt like absolutely nothing happened in this episode, aside from Luffy waking up in a better physical condition than I expected.
The people around him should soon remind Luffy of the fact he also has his crew (that is, friends) scattered around the world and the deceased brother, Ace, shouldn't anymore be his top priority, only a painful memory.
Yeah that kinda struck me aswell, i didn't care that much about Luffy's "grief" rampage... it didn't feel sad at all -.-
One reason that might be is because of Ace having so little screentime over the course of the entire series that i didn't really have time to...uh.. "bond/develop" enough feelings for his character to feel sad about his death >.>

Is there no One Piece this week?
Marik. Do you know if there's anything that needs to be configured for Yibis releases? Last week I assumed all the jumping was due to the low quality edit removing the earthquake warnings... but I'm getting them again on this week's episode despite there being no warnings this time around.
I'll try updating my codes then. Though I only have issues with Yibis releases. I have no problems with shows from any other group.
BTW... if the Toriko x One Piece special is the 'same' as the manga its not worth watching.
Question for anyone who's read the Toriko Manga... is it any good? (will the anime be any good? ^^)
I mean it should be atleast decent if it managed to get a crossover ep with a behemoth like One Piece? :P

I really like it.
Take note that i'm not as jaded as a lot of the people on this forum and still don't mind watching the generic stuff. So even though i like it, it could just be that i don't mind watching rehash.
It's stupid and over the top is pretty standard in term of comedy/shounen. I think the world and creatures are well designed and the plot progression isn't bad. It's the typical new arc to find a new super special food ingredient, but there's an underlying plot developing in the background as the story progress. The art style is "old school" but it's generally very detailed. Think of it as a far less serious Hunter x Hunter that really only revolve around food.
Does the food being ridiculously strong monsters they have to beat to death help?
Hmmm...
No. I love shounen, but I draw the line at shounen based around really dumb stuff. Ninjas, pirates, wizards, grim reapers. That's my wheelhouse.
Well you are able to tolerate Bleach and is capable of handling the unique brand of randomness in One Piece. I would say to try watching a couple of episodes and see if there is any chance you'll like it.
