Yeah. Out of nowhere there's the implication that Kai didn't want Rose to be with Onyx either, and then it just didn't sort of go anywhere.
The thing that really got me was it seemed like they were still trying to have the plane take off after its front windows were blown out...
The only difference from the beginning of the series is that Rose is now ever-so-slightly more self-conscious about her feelings for Ryuji. He's liked her since he rescued her at the end of the first arc. More Ai would have been appreciated. I feel like her arc was actually one of the best ones in the series.
"Auuu" girl isn't as annoying as she started out to be, mostly because she seemed to come to grips with the fact that she's always going to be second-pick. Her competition isn't Rose, it's Ai and Margua.
